I, also, want it to be pvp everywhere.

It stays true to the Ip's lore.

It, also, gives that one ability all others MMO's lack; the ability not only to report 'Gold Spammers' but gank the hell out of them before they finish the www-.gold/we ruin your games-.com in general chat.

Yes, FFA everywhere, it helps nurture the all out brutality aspects of Conan's lore and, finaly, gives me the MMO side hobby I've always dreamed of...

For the first time, it would be both fun and satisfying, to report(account ban/chore) and kill them in the starting areas of an MMO(chore that becomes worthwhile fun).

If this became a routine practice, it may transfer some of the focus of new player ganking in pvp to a more constructive area, which really becomes a server community that's helping to protect it's game.

I also put no safe zones.

Im a roleplayer and its very hard to do that without full PvP. People just talk and act as there is no consequense. Full PvP will hopefullymake players to think first and act later : )   Maybe its not the perfect solution, but it will better then with safe zones ( i have tryed that for years, and i dont work).

I agree, pvp anywhere... but with a Caveat, the Major Cities should have a "City Watch" to maintain some semblance of order. Plus it would add and extra fun factor "Will i get caught ganking and looting this noob?"

Before anyone QQs about the ganking noobs... there are noobs at every level...

  • They’ll definitely implement PVP with safe zones and they might have a different server with NO safe zone but they won’t have only NO safe zone PVP servers. The NO Safe zone PVP servers are prefect for guilds to get on and protect each of their members but to try and solo that? Just think of Shadowbane and you’ll know what I mean, unless you’re a part of something bigger it’s going to be a long tough battle. The problem is the powerlvlers who have nothing to do and just camp a starter zone – without higher players to protect you it’s going to get very frustrating very quickly. And I’m pretty sure the Funcom don’t want their customers having a frustrating experience.

Hey Avery, thank you for the post.

It boggles my mind that when it comes to rulesets, they only wanted to ask two questions of the community.  Oh well, at least it is better than not asking anything at all.

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

I would favor having no restrictions on PvP, but it really depends on how the looting rules work and how the game is itemized. If this game is very equipment centric - if it's like WoW, where you spend most of your time grinding for stuff or the gold to buy it, then I'm not going to bother with the PvP servers, not if dieing costs me even one piece of equipment. On the other hand, if equipment is mostly generic or cheap, them I'm all for joining in the gankfest. Let them take my few coins and vendor trash.

Well right now there is no item drop for pvp.

The thing that utterly surprises me, is that 6 weeks before launch they are asking this question. Yeah, lots of new people visiting the forums and interest in the game, but you would think that something this important would have been hashed out a long time ago.

Not saying its a bad thing, just a little surprising.

I like the idea of Open PvP everywhere, even in cities, but I also like the idea of ambush points outside city gates. Therefore I chose Open PvP except for cities for both server types.

I think that because the PvP server in Beta has been up and running for a while now, they just wanted the feedback from testers there and also putting it out to the community too. There was a poll a long time ago, but as the game has evolved, it was time to take another look as interests might of changed.

A loot poll would of been better imo, warranting more attention then just a non pvp / pvp toggle for hubs question. But then again from RPVP to PvP choices on how the ruleset works is quite important for the large RP following the game has.

Well, considering that Gold sellers usually use multiple accounts (such as from free trials when available) to do their spamming, and that you have to get to level 20ish to leave tortage at least once on every account, I don't think there will be as much spamming.

As someone mentioned before, spending 8 hours or so to spam for 2 minutes would seem like a waste of time. I mean, if spammers work a regular 8 hour shift, they'll leave and the next shift gets to spam for 2 minutes and then grind another account 8 hours so that the next guy can spam 2 minutes. This is assuming FC bans the spamming accounts, of course.
