hard to enjoy gaming while waiting for another.

I have seen similar posts asking :what should I do til the game I'm waiting for releases?". Well, the answer I have come up with is .....nothing...or close to it.  I am an ex EQ player. I have been playing WoW for 2 years. I am anxiously awaiting AoC and hoping it doesn't suck. Or at least that the launch doesnt go as badly as Vanguard's (was also looking forward to that).

My dilemma......I have tried various other games while I wait. My true love is mmorpg's. I have continued playing WoW, tried the trial of lotr, and eve. Have checked out several of the f2p ones out there. This is what I have come up with...When you know that you aren't going to stay in an mmo, it loses MUCH of it's appeal. Does anyone else feel this? Why bother putting time into a character when the progression is soon to be thrown away.

So, thankfully I have an xbox 360.Console gaming is perfect for times like this...killing a month or 2.

On a side note....let's say Conan does release in sucktacular fashion....I have heard Vanguard is much better now....how long will it last though with very poor sub numbers?

I’s in a similar position, I’s watin’ for Warhamma. I’s been playin’ around on LotR, EVE even Vanguard but n’nuffink seemz to ’ave any substance. It’z like bein’ in a desert an’ drinkin’ ’olographic wata. It’z cold, it’z wet, but it’z just not refreshin’. Console gamin’ can fill da gap, as can playin’ old favouritez like ’alf Life.

Unfortunately, uvva dan dat dere’z not much dat we can except wait.

Yep I agree, Not that many good games out in the last year or so. 2007 was actually a very disappointing year for me and my friends looking for mmorpgs. Everything that came out was just a generic takeover on something that had already been done before. Aion & Conan seem to be taking into account that people want innovation and changing it up a bit. I hope these 2 games are as good as they look.

I am currently playing Cabal online, Its 100% free to finish game, Yes finish you do not ever need to use the cash shop nor is there any item in cash shop you can't find in game with lots of farming. I really like the game so far and if you are a bit tired of WoW you can try Cabal. Its really like a World of warcraft With similar quests and style but with a more in depth battle system, Much more lag with vista than WoW and a lot less area's to explore than WoW. Id say give it a shot, you might as well its free and the download I believe is less than 1GiG Graphics look like 2005 ps2 so its not to bad.

I hear ya; I'm in a similar boat.

But it's worse for me, and for the rest of the drifting Ryzom players, because we've already played our dream game and now we can't. We wait, hoping the mysterious new buyer is good and will turn the servers back on or at least say something to us. Meanwhile we try to play other games but they all feel so inferior and empty.
