Help please...I need my MMO fix.

So, I need someones help, EVERCRACK is on my mind and have been looking for a new game ever since I left WoW over a year ago. It is either go back to EQ for 20 dollars and all the expansions, or AoC, or EQ til Warhammer comes out, or AoC until Stargate comes out, or....lol.

I did the beta's for LotR and TR, but they couldn't fill the need to get my 14.99 a month. So what do you guys think? Could Age of Conan actually be the game we have been waiting for, or should I just give in to my old addiction to EQ, lol, cuz after WoW, nothing hits the spot?

If AoC was just running around and enjoying the beautiful world and creations of the Dreamworld engine I would still buy it and play it.

ATM it is also a most developed MMO that is not released so even if you dont like it, it will give you fun times and something to do when you are waiting for another mmo whatever that is.

You might want to give eq2 a try.  It is a very good game especially if you liked wow.  Vanguard can also be a lot of fun but it is still kinda rocky and does have a hitching issue but most of the issues now days are much less then they were at launch.  It can be enjoyable.

I was kinda in the same boat. Maple Story is deffinetly fun, and i picked up the $2.00 30 day trial disc for FF XI and have been enjoying that for now....

CoX is a good MMO to kill sometime until a bigger MMO comes out.

Apply for the AoC beta and play DAoC until you're in beta or AoC is released (if it ever will be released ).

sounds like we're pretty much on the same boat. I haven't found any new decent games since i quit wow. I'm waiting war, fallout, stargate, final fantasy and bloodbowl but they are all only a distant light of hope in the future

I even bought ps3 to keep me entertained but all I ended up was to play more ADOM

since i haven't played anything i've had time to work my ass off and when the "next big thing" comes out i can afford 20 personal farmers and spend my unused 5months of paid vacation. That should tell how much i'm waiting new game

    Same here!!

Im in the AoC beta and played it about 1 month and a half ago and wasnt impressed by the awful performance (not my pc). Im sure its come along way now but the client is like an 11 gig 10 part download and they only call on us to play every 2 weeks or so for 3 hours which is ridiculous for having such a fat HDD eater sat on my PC.

So i'll wait until were invited to play longer than 3 hours before playing it again.

I take it you were a Tech beta tester not General.

You were invited to be a technical tester.  If you want to make your way into the general you have to show some initiative in the tech tests.

As of now, the game is running surprisingly smooth, and the graphical quality is near that of Crysis.  Trust me, this game will be well worth the wait.  (I just hope that praise like this doesn't lead me to an nda violation.)

Indeed a technical tester. But like i said im not having that ridiculously large client sat on my PC just for 3 hours of play every few weeks where i might or might not be able to get a chance to logon.

I like to keep my HDD clean and have no space pointlessly being wasted. So i'll be waiting to get into the full beta till I experience the game fully. Looks v.promising though.

Believe it or not D&Do is a very good game, But you have to like grouping and dungeons, you can play short or long ones depending on how much time you have ( half hour up to like 4 hours ). Each one has a major twist or something special about it. Every class is important to have in your group, not just a healer and tank, even rogues to disarm many traps. The city of Stormreach is very large, as big as a lot of MMO's and there is a lot of prep work when out of a group that has to be done.

Best part of D&D is the voice chat, It works for everyone and is soooo clear you will get lazy. This is a must in D&D anyway because your group has to really stop and formulate plans in detail, I found that there is never an arguement because of mis-communication, if someone is acting stupid the group simply tells them about it and it works out well.

Last is real time combat, no more targeting, you just run up and swing away. This is great because some mobs come 10-20 strong and you have to kill them all, but you better have the right weapon set in hand depending on what your fighting, but you can change from club to shield to two swards fast in the action bar. Swimming jumping from cliffs and fire pitts are un-matched more so than any other game.

It's been a few months so I would ask for a populated server, cause I never went without a group for more than 10 min.

WoW was my first love but after 3x I can't ever go back, and D&D is really on my mind anyway, but I'm on second shift so I don't have time for any game.

ATM I think AoC is your best option.  However, WAR looks promising as well.  Try AoC and see how it is.  I feel it will be a pretty good MMO!

I have juped form MMO to MMO since my 3 years of eq, 2 years of FFXI, 1 year of EQ2 and then a very dissappointing spiral from 1 mmo to another.  The only thing that has been keeping me game sane is Rock Band; well that and good ole starcraft and diablo 2 LMFAO.

In the meantime i have taken up Golf, either I am getting too old for these games are there has not been a game worth a flip since first gen and some 2nd gen mmos.

    btw Turok 2 for PS3 / xbox360 was a huge dissapointment fyi.

I too am in need of a MMO. I have not found one i thought was worth playing since i left EQ 3 years ago. Since then i have played EQ2, WoW, Lineage 2, Horizons (shudders), CoH, and i did beta on LoTRs, oh ya, a very short stint on TR. Dont jump all over me, im not saying they are bad games, im just saying that i didnt care for them.

I thought Vanguard was going to be what i was looking for and we all know how that worked out.

AoC is next on my list but im getting a bit afraid it wont fit the bill either. I really hope im wrong.

After AoC the only think im even a little interested in is Aion.

Cant wait for 38 Studios to put out what they are making.

P.S. I have tried to go back to EQ and it was too different for me. I may end up trying again though since i can find nothing else.

Don't you get it? Report a lot of bugs, show some initiative and make them believe that you are beta-testing and not just "playing". Some people I know got in the general beta from the tech beta this way ... so be careful at the next tech beta invite ;)
