General: Mekhi, Territory Control and Weapons

The folks from NCsoft have sent along this developer paper on the Mekhi Mechanagught, Weapon Highlights and Capture the Flag. While the robot battle game doesn't meet our criteria for listing, it certainly shares a number of traits with MMORPGs, including a persistent character.

Spatter Gun – The Spatter Gun is one of the first types of shotgun weapons purchasable for starting players. The –C model costs only 4,000 credits and can be quite useful in dispatching nearby enemies. Exteel’s shotguns are similar to traditional shotguns; they fire giant rounds of ammunition that will cause decent amounts of damage against an opponent at close range. The weapon is very accurate (much more than SMGs or even some rifles) but can have a long reload time.

Read it all here.

Exteel is a great MMO-lite.  Free, easy to learn and just plain fun.

Exteel is a great pure PVP mmo. I've been playing this game for quite some time now, always fun coming back to this game. The only issue I have is the flavor of the month setup but that's standard in every game.

3 months ago, it was Uzi all the way... now it's rifles lol

Maybe for noobie it was Oozie to Rifle, but 3 months ago for me it was Lance and shield.  Now its Lance and Shield.  Cause Lancing is plain fun, especially with a super fast mech.

I have a silly question, not trolling or anything it's just something I'm curious about:

Exteel doesn't meet the criteria for listing, but Rakion does? They're basically the same type of game, just one involves Mechs and the other Sword play. Not saying Rakion wasn't a blast and that I want to see it removed, and Exteel is a great pick me up. Just curious about how one made it over the other is all.

Will even accept the "Grandfathered-In" clause.

Exteel is ok. It is not great. It has major balance issues and feels incomplete since there are Mechs missing and other such things.

The CTF was changed last week with speed penalties taken away for the flag carriers. Now there is a major amount of the CTF players who say it went too far. There is little communication it seems and not much help to be recieved from the company on what is going on.

There is also a ton of people who do not purchase NCoins (for whatever reason) that hate the best stuff requires buying NCoins. Some can say too bad but it is people in other countries that it is not allowed to purchase them that actually has a reason to complain.

I am glad that MMORPG is willing to accept the articles but this sounds more like an advertisement article than an article talking about how the game is.

The best stuff doesn't require coins.  Why would you think that?  Have you actually looked at the store?  The best mech sets are purchasable by credits.

I have checked and what most people say are best weapons do cost NCoins and Hellfire parts can't be bought with Credits. Are you sure that you know which game we are talking about.

I don't consider Hellfire to be the best mech.  I have it but the parts I'm buying for the top credit mech (forget the name) is giving me significant improvement.  Why is Hellfire considered better?

  • RobbgobbRobbgobb Member UncommonPosts: 674

I did not say the whole mech. I said the parts. The core is what a lot of people like. That core and the D weapons is what I was told to get if I ever purchased any NCoins by some of the better players helping me That and the fact people are making rooms that says "NO NCoins" seems to point to people thinking there is an advantage to using NCoins. I have been playing less the past couple of days since I finally hit 25 and not as many good games to join since All is my choice and I hate CTF. When I do play (in the Arena most) and here complaints is mostly about people using the OP weapons.

Robbgobb, do you always do as your told?

I've been playing this game for the last three months and totally luv it, althou I have been off for the last week, due to computer prob's, I can say, in all my time in this game I've never seen a NO nc coin's room of any type, I really wouldn't take to much to heart what the higher level players tell you for advice, alot of them will give you bad advice on purpose, just to throw you off your game, you gotta keep in mind there are deathmatch players mixed in with team players in the games lobby, best would be to work it out for yourself and find a mech with or without nc coins, that gives you that nice balance of fire power and armor with decent movement, everything you need to make a good choice is writen in the games info, I personally think the game is fairly balanced, I think some pepole just don't make there mech's to suit there combat style and end up dying more than they like.

-Don't worry about the NC coins, it's all just a matter of personal choice and what suits you.

-Strafing is a good tatic to learn and master,( bunny hopping is dumb thou)

-There are some really nice and challenging players in this game and some cunning ones as well.

    hope this helps
