WoW - Give it a 3rd try?

I need somone to help me out on this question. Sense summer is approaching, im going to be alone all day sense no school because all of my family works exept for me (to young) for pretty much all day on every other day. So..I need a game to play out of 3 games! I played RuneScape for 2 years, but I got burnt out on it. Maple Story is what im playing atm, but its a really bad grind, I want a game with more than the grind. Ive already tried WoW 2 times before, but I got to lvl 10 and gave up, so it only lasted a month both times. The reason being is because the game was really confusing for me. I wasnt sure what to do or what the point was, and what made it worse was their was a crap load of lvl 70's running around witch made me feel even worse. So can somone tell me is I should give it a 3rd try? I need to know what the point of the game is, and what items are the best, and what common phrases are used in the game to refer to items. So can somone please help? Give me some thoughts on the game? thanks.

If you didn't like it the first time then you wont like it second or third time around.

If u are looking for someting new in MMOs then look around.  WoW engine is at the end of the line.  From now on it will not bring you anything other than new stats and new abilites to bosses.  If you want FPS then go for COD4 and have fun =)

    Give it a try !!

I played WoW for a couple of years and got into the raiding etc in the game .. its much like any other game .. it is what you make it.

They made the early levels in WoW alot more solo friendly .. removing alot of the Elite encounters etc. You can easily solo to level 70 in a short period of time .. my first run through the game I got to 60 (the cap at the time) in a matter of 5 weeks or so casual play. Second time through (when I switched servers and restarted with nothing) it was alot easier to hit 60 and much faster.

60-70 in Outlands is retardedly easy .. I made 70 5 days after tBC (The Burning Crusade) launched.

Dont be too concerned about the number of level 70's running around .. its not at all hard to hit the cap in WoW with a small amount of effort. Theres alot of content in the lower level with loads of instances. Once you hit 70 theres a ton to do with different reps (for heroic access or rewards) the PvP (I prefure BG's to Arena's but w/e) is ok ... theres alot of grinding in the game ... cash for mounts or tradeskills etc ... but theres nothing in the league of the asian f2p MMORPGS.

Its a pretty fun game .. I played for a couple of years before I finally got bored of the game so I cant call it a bad game ...

Theres free trials around on the web .. grab one and knock out a few hours. Initially i would'ent bother with addons etc .. although as you level up and start looking at doing raids (assuming thats your thing .. you never *have* to raid really) you'll want to look into some UI addons to make life easier.

no, if u cant get past lvl 10 then dont try it again. not trying to be mean but wow is prolly the easiest game to jump right into, the UI is very easy to learn and so is the game in general, not sure how u couldnt get past lvl 10.

Wow IS A PVE game. s such raiding and leveling is the mainstay of what you will be doing. However there are areas for PvP and servers dedicated to this. However, in the end, WoW is PVE 1st and foremost.

To answer your question, absolutly, WOW is worth a go ...if only because it is now the common ground by which every other MMORPG player can relate to. I enjoyed my time, but the Uber Raiding Mentality eventually caused me to lose perspective

    See AWNED (My WoW Character)

Beware the trial account though, although I encourage use of trial accounts...there are significant limitations on WoW's that make it a lot more difficult than normal gameplay for a regular acconut.

    Hope this helps

You can't compare yourself to other players.  Who cares if other people are lvl 70?  Enjoy the game and stop trying to rush it :)!

I suggest you do a bit of reading first before trying WOW again, as you're new to the genre/game and could use some guidance.

Try this site here, should be a big help to you.

Enjoy the game! Level 70 doesn't matter, delay it as much as you can. Have fun in battlegrounds at lower levels.

I would add http://www.wowhead.com/ to that list.

WoW is about grinding to lvl 70 ( might be fun if you know the quests well, and if it's your 1st or 2nd time doing it),the whole game revolves around grind and erects statues for the grind gods.

Basicly -> grind to lvl 70 -> grind instances for blue gear -> grind heroics for epic gear -> grind raid instance for better gear -> pvp *it's realy boring and meaningless and revolves strongly around gear".

WoW is a good game for simple people/kiddies who dont like to think and just click 2-4 buttons and jump around,it's a very softcore game in terms of learning how to play.

If you are looking for a different game that doesnt revolve around grinding, you can try lotr online, wich focuses more on lore and quests, eve online is also nice, but beware,it's the opposite of WoW and WoWers will flee at the sight of it,either then those 2 games,I can only recommend you wait for AoC or WAR,tho I dont like the road EA is taking with WAR.

    @Aistrike

Agreed WoW became grindgame.  For someone who didn't play it to higher levels it will be fun for sure, to see and explore new zones and instances.

After having 3rd char it was just mechanical with knowning all the quests and in what order to do them. If there wasn't leveling alts, would quit WoW alot sooner. Since last few patches you get faster from 1 to 60.

Lotro is same pace as WoW. He can get trial from  http://www.lotro.com/trial for US or  http://www.lotro-europe.com/trial.php  for EU. His choice

Trying a newer server and finding a good guild might help, but only making level 10 might mean WoW isn't for you.
