You'd likely get a more qualified responce at the official forums: http://forums.ddo.com/forumdisplay.php?f=37

Looking at the servers and the posts on their respective forums it looks like Thelanis has more activity.  You should keep in mind that it's not unheard of where only 20% of an mmo ever post on the forums; http://forums.ddo.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4

I play on ghallanda but after looking at the list i', thinking about making a few alts.

Yeah I switched to Thelanis from Khyber because I was going to give permadeath a try, but school kicked back in full swing. I plan to try it maybe when school lets out next month. But I made my Rogue there and play when time permits.

D&D has a perma death server? That might give me some incentive to try the game again is that is true.

Ive never heard of a perma-death system actually implemented into a game.  How does it work in DD?

  • SevenwindSevenwind Member UncommonPosts: 2,188

It doesn't have a perma-death server. Just Thelanis server has the oldest perma-death guild on it. Bill_Pardy who posts here on mmorpg is in it. http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Sublime_Permadeath_Guild

    Other servers

    http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Category:Permadeath_Guilds

As for how it works, Bill_Pardy could answer that better than I could. It has rules but essentially you delete your character if you die in game.

the Perma-Death system is not In the game per se, it is a rule structure guilds set up and you follow, if you enjoy it you follow it if not you don't. There are a few Perma-Death guilds around, Sublime on Thelanis, Extreme Explorers on Sarlona and Mortal Voyage on Arggo.
