Star Wars Galaxies has been updated with the lates chapter update, and SOE has posted the complete release notes for Chapter 9: The Fury of Exar Kun.
Temple of Exar Kun Heroic Encounter:
- A team of archaeologists has been searching the remaining temples on Yavin 4 to find lost Sith artifacts. While exploring the area around the Temple of Exar Kun , the team stumbled upon undiscovered catacombs hidden deep underground. What will they discover in the depths of the temple? Find out in this new heroic encounter!
Your journey to uncover the mysteries of the Temple of Exar Kun begins in the Aurilia Adventurer's guildhall.Storyteller:
- Storyteller blueprints have been added. Blueprints allow a storyteller to lay out a scene with storyteller props, save that scene, and deploy it quickly and easily. The storyteller vendor near the NPC theaters in each city offers a blueprint for sale. Use the radial menu on the blank storyteller blueprint in your inventory and choose Save Blueprint Data to save the complete scene.
You can also add a description to a blueprint that can be viewed in the Examine window.- Ground targeting for storyteller prop placement has been added.
- Jukebox converters have been added to the storyteller vendor. A jukebox converter will make a storyteller prop that you target and that you own into a jukebox. It will then behave just like a normal jukebox storyteller prop.
- The music being played by a storyteller jukebox can now be heard whether or not you are part of that jukebox's story. The one exception is if you are participating in someone's story, then you will only hear music played by jukeboxes that are part of that story.

I like the sound of this patch. I also like the direction they are taking the game. However, I do not like the Jedi profession as is and it is the only profession I have any interest in playing. Therefore, I still will not resubscribe to this game. While the devs are doing a good job of introducing new content, they are doing a horrible job of making class progression fun and unique to the individual. I'll say it again what needs to be done for Jedi.
* Jedi should be able to wear whatever they want and still be competitive. Looking the same as everyone is dull.
* There should be a difference between light and dark side Jedi in both abilities and powers.
* Jedi should at least have the basic force abilities, such as push and pull.
* Jedi should be able to create any hilt and use any color crystal and remain competitive
Bonus
* A bonus to Jedi would be for Jedi to have their own content/war so they fit into the Universe. I could live without this if the above were implemented.
Whether people like to admit it or not, Jedi are being neglected in the NGE. Whether you like the content or not, all other profession have content that makes sense for their profession.
Commando's, Spies, Officer's and Medic's all belong in the GCW and they make sense to be involved.
Entertainers have their cantina's where they can form bands and entertain the playerbase
Traders can build businesses, malls, and corporations for players to buy and sell goods through. However, they are a bit neglected to for repeat business.
Bounty Hunters have the bounty hunting missions as their profession content.
Dark Jedi are being forced to join the Empire and fight the Rebellion, when the Emperor doesn't want any other force sensitives alive. Jedi walk the path of light and seldomly get involved in wars, and if they do, they are Generals, yet Jedi not only fight in the GCW for the Rebellion, but also start off as the lowest rank. It would make more sense for Light and Dark Jedi to have their own war if they are going to exist during this timeline. They have been fighting each other since the beginning of time anyways.
This stuff is game breaking for me, which is why I won't subscribe anymore until it is fixed.

The majority of players are jedi. at least when I was playing. So I can understand encouraging players to try other profs by giving them lots of love. That said, most of your ideas are good and ppl have been calling for them for years. I'm waiting for SWG2 with a whole new engine for some of the stuff you mentioned (Force push, pull, ect) and height system, damageable surroundings, seamless transition between space and atmospheric flight, ect. Imagine force unleashed as an MMO. Yikes
Game Update 3, which will be on TC in the next few days includes a complete revamp of the Path trees for Jedi along with 5th gen hilts and new cloaks. There's a few dev posts in the Jedi forum with details on the update.
Like Obraik said the devs are working on it , unfortunatly that just about sums up the game , still in beta , the words train wreck and ghost town come to mind here as well .
As for cloaks, only 1 new cloak is being introduced. One for light and one for dark. That is all fine and dandy, but I want the robes we have to be viable or new robes that are viable. I'm not much of a cloak person. In fact, I'd prefer innate force armor like Jedi and TKM used to have. That makes a lot more sense lore wise. I don't know much about the 5th gen sabers, but if they allow us to create any hilt we want, that's great. Doesn't solve the color crystal issue though.
So in summary, a lot of good changes in the pipe-line, but they still have far to go.

Golly gee, I guess the books and movies lied to me . . . where the hell did all these jedi come from, didn't the Empire wipe most all of them out?
For a game that was set in the canon of episodes IV - V, there shouldn't be jedi running around.
Oh yeah, THAT's how they appealed to the 10 year old WoW crowd.
Dad, please buy me this game so i can be an uberz jedi!! Oh pweeze!!!
The Force WAS with us, then came the CU!

Well, the Light and Dark cloaks both have different values and effects associated with them. Also, all old robes (such as the Elder and loot drops) and cloaks are all recieving a boost in both their armour and stat values. If you don't have an active account, when it hits TC I'd suggest making a new trial account and jumping on TC and to give it a try and see the changes in person. I don't believe there's any restrictions on accessing the Test servers while on a trial account and with the frogs, you should be able to max out your character.
Scrap chapter 9 and go back to publish 9 when the game was fun and Jedi were rare.
Just scratch the game and get on with SWG 2 already!
Such utter crap!
Please let SWG DIE! Let them ruin Star Wars no more.
Here's an idea for you and others that post simillar things: Stop proving you care about the game by posting such remarks. If you truly wanted it gone, you'd simply ignore it.
People don't care about SWG
People care about Star Wars.
And we want an MMO that honors it.
Considering LucasArts plays a pretty big part in what happens with SWG, what makes you think any other Star Wars MMO is going to be any different? Any Star Wars MMO is always going to need to have involvement with LucasArts. If you don't like how they honor Star Wars with SWG, then it's unlikely you'll like the way they do it with any other MMO either.
You know, I was thinking. If Lucas hasn't even read any expanded universe books, then would he really know what customers want in an MMORPG? Does he even know what a MMORPG really is and what we liked about the Pre-NGE game, or does some other big wig sign the approvals for him?
It is my guess that Lucas doesn't know what MMORPGs really are or what we really want. MMORPGs isn't a huge market right now and he probably didn't care until WOW put MMORPGs on the radar. Even then, he probably only said "I want those numbers, make it happen."
So while all of us are dumbfounded at the stupidity it takes to not have Pre-CU servers, he probably doesn't even know we want them or doesn't care since the subs were declining and weren't that great Pre-NGE.

It's unlikely Lucas has anything to do with the games part - that's what he has the LucasArts devision for. That being said, according to the LucasArts producer for SWG, canon related decisions (such as adding Exar Kun as a Heroic) are taken to the highest level at LucasArts/Film - one could assume that might mean Lucas.

Lucas' personal involvement with SWG and most other Star Wars related projects that aren't major motion pictures, is as a mediator only. When a feature, character, or event 's implementation into the game could cause a serious continuity error or other sort of discrepancy, Lucas is sometimes consulted. For the most part however, Mr. Lucas has had very little to do with these projects... aside from giving birth to the one of the greatest science fiction sagas of all time, that is.
Maybe in those catacombs they'll discover old backup files for Pre-cu along with the 95% of the star wars universe population that disappeared 2.5 years ago?
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"
