From reading that it sounded like they planned to release an unfinished game if they did not have a US publisher, which is worrying.
Not an unfinished game, but a game without the content that would have been included lateron. Although, in a way, an mmorpg is never finished, but that never worried anyone yet.
Ugh, please can everyone stop saying things like this.
No one ever said an MMO gets "finished."
"Polished," yes. "Running smoothly," yes. "Ready for market," YES.
These are all things a consumer has a right to expect from any game he buys.

Ya, no, I do not get this from reading the press release.
It sounds like, in the contract, the US Publisher has asked/demanded that the game be released simultaneously world-wide. So, because it is going to take 6-months for the US Publisher to get ready, the game has been delayed... and during the delay the developers are going to polish more content.
Why do people expect the worse? I am just so excited that the game will be released in the US.
The reason I get the impression that they were going to release an unfinished game is the bit in the second part of the report (click read on on the main website article) it says that they want to improve the server infrastructure.
And that they welcome the 6 months of extra polish that they can do to the game which gives me the impression that they needed 6 months of polish but did not have the money to do so. I don't mind them moving the dates back I would rather have a well polished, fun game that I and others will enjoy playing than to have a buggy game that has potential but is let down by lag, and bugs.
It doesn't matter anyway, 6 months now to get the game to a high standard. Hopefully the 6 month delay will allow for a release that was as good as the Lord of the rings one, which in my opinion is the new benchmark for developers to aim for.
Anyone got any new news, innuendos, or speculations on the unvieling of the NA marketing arm? News has been very quiet of late. I realy hope this game succeeds - their timing unfortunately puts them at a huge disadvantage.

Just be like Eve Online and do it yourselves!
well let's not forget that the time EVE Online launched, people were a lot less demanding, so you could still launch your game with a smaller budget (and less features). In this time of day, you sadly need a sufficient amount of money to get a decent game.
This game has some interesting features that the "big" MMOs are lacking. If they can pull off a smooth launch, I wouldnt worry. Many WOW players are looking for something new, AoC will probably be dissapointing for a lot of PvP fans, and I dont think that WAR will be different enough to hold onto the vets.
