I said that Nvidia would not be coming out with another video card before christimas... well I cant eat those word... they are coming out with the Geforece 6600 series... its basically 6800 but cheaper and not as good... but it still comes with pixel shader 3.0.... I dont really lose the bet because its the same chipset just dumbed down... but this will technically be a new series, with 6600 and 6600 GT.... so who ever I made the bet with can laugh all they want...

While I guess technically it's a new card, it's not by my definition. That series won't drop the price on the 6800 series like a more advanced release would. I only consider step-ups to be new releases, not setp-downs.

I'm not going to sit here and laugh, but this also isn't what I meant. There will be a BETTER card than the 6800 out at the end of the year. You won't hear about it until just before the release of it, just like the 6800. And you won't hear rumors until closer to the holiday season.
But, if you want to keep that bet, in the chance that I'll be wrong, we can trade paypal info sometime...

Its the "Pro" of the Nvidia world?
How could they release a new card so fast? If they did make a new card it would be more powerful than a basic PC. Hopefully one day the hardware can keep up with the GPUs.
