Most games i played had a bad pvp system no skill required all you do is stand and keep using skill. So far to me wow has a good pvp system. So does anyone have any good mmorpg with a good pvp system?
Tabula Rasa will have a kick ass PVP when it gets PVP.
I would look more on the horizon for PVP since thats how PVP is in every mmo right now. Just stand there and use skills.
In the near future though you have Age of Conan and Ragnarok Online 2 making use of directional based attack/damage. So then you will atleast get people running around in circles. Also in Age of Conan you have instanced based Sieging, and in Ragnarok Online 2 you will have rehashed War of Emperium. Having a massive form of PVP atleast makes it more interesting.
I would say that currently the best games released for PvP would be Guild wars, Eve Online and DAOC.
Beware waiting on the promised mega-hyped PvP of WAR and (to a lesser degree) AoC..I get the sense that both those games are not going to be released any time soon (yes, this includes AoC)
Hands down Darkfall online will have the best PvP, but It's not for the faint at heart.
I think he is looking for a game to play now, not a game that his kids kids will play. Darkfall will not be out any time soon.
To the OP:
Shadowbane and Air Rivals both have great PvP and are both free to play. Im not sure how much PvP you want, Shadowbane is even more hardcore than Darkfall Online will ever hope to be. Air Rivals does have some safe zones and is nation vs nation but it takes good player skills in PvP.
I heard that dark age of camelot has a great pvp system; shadowbane aswell. Guildwars was MADE for pvp and i heard accomplishes this quite well. Fury was also made for pvp and does not accomplish this so well (or so i have heard). Eve has a great pvp system that is really cut throat and gives big rewards for the winner and big losses for the loser. World of warcraft has a pretty fun pvp system but it is mostly balanced for arena play (2v2, 3v3, 5v5) and gear becomes pretty dependent the more competitive you get (but so does skill anyways).
Shadowbane is the only game that has decent pvp, guilds, player towns, and sieges, and mines. It is fee, great character customization class and skill wise, you get max level quickly, graphics suck, pve is just there to get you levels and is poorly done.
GW is not an mmo, DaoC pvp is carebear, Tabula Rasa has failed as a game already.
