I think the market is slowly becoming flooded with too many of the medieval fantasy style stufff... how come there isn't more sci fi and war type game? not that I personally care for them... but you can see there's a huge void to fill....

you kinda answered your own question...the larger majority dont really care for them. but there are still allot who do. and so there are allot of new sci-fi mmo comming out in the near future...firefly mmo, starwars mmo, stat trek mmo, jumpgate evaluation and stargate
Too bad there ain't much medieval in medieval fantasy mmorpgs besides swords... I would like to see a low fantasy/no fantasy mmorpg with a historic setting. The ones so far (PotBS, Roma Victor) failed/seem to fail (I liked PoTBS for a sneek peek).
How about a MMO in...
- "Darklands" style (1992 Microprose low fantasy RPG, great but underrated)
- WWII Online style but with today's technical standarts
- historic medieval setting with RvR (crusades f.e.)
Fantasy is easy, SciFi is harder.
