I read about this on 1up.com 4 days ago and im still wonder how it's going to be online. Shenmue 2 is an awsome game that always need room for tune up.

EDIT: I just watched the video and that video is Kick-A** . All the online players just comming out of the digital world to help Ryo. Thats one original video. Better than the Matrix Online Video.

okay seriously, screw everything else... Shenmue Online is the way to go... im not kidding, thats now officially number 1 on my list of upcoming games... ... i just hope its a REAL MMORPG with hundreds/thousands on per server instead of just the "4 person per player server" thing...

i was practically the 1st person out buying Shenmue for DC when it came out... that game was straight nutty... i remember sitting in that parking lot for hours on end training my moves up

heh cool. I got Shenmeu II for X-box. I started a new save cuz my old save (from when i rented it) i didn't want to mess with it cuz i would get lost.

I love shenmue and the sequal.I was positions in yokosuka japan and the games realizm to the city was great.But i dont think it will make too great of an online game i preferred the solo story of it.There is a 3 in the works too.

Aw hell yea! I love Shenmue so much, I beat the original on DC so many times it's not funny, and I bought an X-Box just so I could play Shenmue 2. I'm making this post before I watch the video, I'll just edit it later.

Shenmue 2 rocked!!!!... until you had to listen to the damn tape to find out your clues... that really pissed me off.... but that video did not explain anything to me... I still dont know how the game is going to work or even look... that was just the intro...

Isent shenmue some kinda whale from free willy? if so THAT WOULD BE KICK ASS! i would bully all of the weaker whales around and make them get me sandwiches and poptarts. P.S i wish i was a whale

I loved shenmue for the dreamcast, would sit and play darts all day lol, and always had to buy the toys, would be interesting as a mmmorpg.

It's not just any Virtua Fighter, it's dubbed the "Virtua Fighter Network" for Xbox Live.

Think of it this way. You create your own fighter like PSO. You live in a virtual world like in Shenmue. Your primary money maker is Street Fighting with others (people online) but you can take on mini-missions like in Shenmue to rake in the extra dough.

The way it works, you all start from almost nothing, but you work your way up to the top. You can work jobs, do missions or fight others along the way. Eventually when you make enough money and you gain recognition, you will be invited (or be able to join) real tournaments, as not only your character in-game, but these will be tournies official ones that are hosted by Sega, as the winner you win prizes and you earn more cash. You can work your way from living in a ****ty apartment to living a high class mansion, and you can own your own home.

You run your character in this virtual world, and the world will be persistant, like Shenmue except a majority of characters you will encounter are players with few NPCs in-game.

You can choose to live and play in major cities in most countries with the ability to download more as the game proresses. If you lived in a city in the U.S., you can earn your way to the top, fly over to Japan, rent a room, and get on with fighting there.

The setting is set in the mid-late 80s, kind of like Shenmue. The game is played like Shenmue when you are playing through the virtual world, but the actual fighting is based on VF4. You can create characters of many sizes, shapes, colors, gender or age.

The number of players at once is unknown.

No what they are thinking is Shamu, the whale from seaworld... But anyways

I agree with Zaradis, by making money through street fighting just like in the game, you would possibly be able to buy new clothes, or moves... a more creative person could even specialize in a fighting style instead of just jujitsu like ryo... Sounds like a great game to me
