Hey guys,
I just watched an episode of Southpark called Make Love Not Warcraft... it's based on World of Warcraft obviously. The 4 boys buy WOW and are happy playing it before some guy with "no life at all" who plays the game every hour of every day for the past year and a half starts killing them everytime they login. He is that powerful he cannot be deleted from the servers, is more powerful than the admins and grows stronger everyday... Quote: "He has reached a level we though unreachable"
Anyways in WOW there is a level cap of 70 i read... and people have to agree to a fight too... But the guy just goes around slaughtering everybody! Eventually they beat him as a team by spending weeks on end killing millions of boars in the forest to become strong enough, then they get "The sword of a thousand truths" which is a weapon taken out of the game during development due to the fact the developers thought it was too powerful for anyone to handle, but a prophesy told by some guy in accounting at blizzard said one day people worthy of the sword might reveal themselves.... turned out to be the 4 southpark boys who used it to "pwn" the griefer (someone who deliberately goes around killing people for no purpose) in the game.
My question is... are there actually MMORPGs out there where someone can get to a "super high level" and just go around basically raping other players without the need to accept to a fight? i know you use to be able to in runescape in a place called the Wilderness which was recently removed, but i'm just wondering what other games out there someone could do this in... if they actually exsist.
Thanks in advanced!

Nah, I think it is impossible for a player to do what they did in the South Park WoW episode. I thought that part of the episode was the weakest. As if any developer would be powerless against a player gone wild. Yeah right. Still, was a freaking funny episode!!
Currently playing: No MMOs. They all suck.
Ultima Online
hi
Hahahaha yeah it was a bullshit episode... like they killed him and the world (of warcraft lol) was saved... but earlier in the episode when cartman gets killed by him for the first time cartman says "No don't kill me i don't wanna have to start off at the graveyard again" *zap dead* lol... why would it be any different to the "evil one" plus they do alot of stuff not real in wow, and yeh as if a game developer would make uncontrolable players.... still one of the best episodes yet, so funny!!!
Quote: "Mum!" "Yes Hun?" "Bathroom!" "What hun?" "BATHROOM BATHROOM" *brinks down portable toilet and cartman shits all over her LOL"
So it is possible for people to do that in Ultima Online? is this the oldschool version? if so, i guess it doesn't happen due to the still high amount of players of the game...?
Thanks!

Maybe the original Lineage.
I've read time and time again that the lvl cap is extremely high and no one has reached it. If this were true then it would be possible to have someone get so high as to be practically invulnerable.

Serph toze kindly has started a walk-through. https://youtu.be/UIelCK-lldo
So we have:
- Linage 1 = Likely possible/needs confirmation
- Ultima Online (original?) = needs confirmation
This is interesting... do you guys hear about this sort of thing happening in MMORPGs often? What else can we add to our little list we have goin on?

It was a parody, there was a few tings in that episode that would never happen, but anyone that players WoW was probably wiping their eye of tears from laughing so hard.
"i'm afraid this is the end of the world........of Warcraft"
STANS DAD:
"stan you've been on your computer all weekend, shouldn't you go out an socialize with your friends?"
STAN:
"I am socializing artard! I'm logged on to an MMORPG with people from all over the world and getting XP with my friends using Teamspeak"
STANS DAD:
(hangs head)
"I'm not an artard"
Maybe Butters had the right idea, maybe we should all play, Hello Kitty Island Adventure?

you can attempt to do so on WurmOnline(wild) but you'll pretty much have an unbearable life as it's very difficult to live by yourself and combat isn't a primary focus in the first place.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
The creators of South Park leave no stereotype untouched. Races, religions, politics, celebrities, and even our wonderful realm of video gaming.
Was a brilliant episode and will always remain as one of my favorite interpretations of how much of our ignorant world views geeks, nerds, and gaming.
Kind of like how the Dead Alewives Watchtower Dungeons and Dragons skit takes you into the "bowels of El Diablo" to show us how D&D really goes down. =P
But yeah, that episode was so epic. "How does one kill that which has no life?"
lol
Well, it's comedy. They have to bend reality at least a little...
Anyway, the closest I can think of to that situation, would be a new PVP MMO. Just after launch, when most players are low-mid level, it's almost guaranteed that some one will pull 20 hour shifts and cap out WAY before everyone else. Of course, this happend in every MMO, it's just more noticeable in a PVP MMO where it's character level>>>>>gear>>>>>>>>>>>>player skill. So, you've got some high level guy that just rolls over everything...
Ooh, that was such a great episode of Southpark. Especially when Cartman needs to poo and he calls his mom to poo all over her. And I loved the person of that high level players in real life to. Just a fatty with some cola and a hotdog playing WoW. His avatar was only wearing a sword and his underpants. FUNNYYNYYNYNYNYNY
Some good quotes... just some lol
We can't trust the sword of a thousand truths to a noob!
Wow look at all these people playing right now! yeah it's bullcrap, i'll bet half these people are koreans LOL
Hey its that guy who kept killing us last night! get out of here asshole! hahaha
No i don't wanna have to start off at the graveyard *zap* That son of a bitch, god fucking dammit!, he's a god damn buthole!
How do you kill that that has no life?
OMG Jesus i've gotta get home my kids are playing wow right now! Jim... ur kids characters are already dead... NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Is that a computer game? no rtard its an mmorpg, im an hunter and i can wave to this guy... i am falcorn the defender of the alliance, i've defeated the bloodfish at jerrod's landing *stab* looks like that guy just killed you, what? WHAT? WHY!!!?
are you french clyde? *speaks in french* OK OK i'll play!
Yeah but i'm playing hello kitty island adventure, butters go buy WOW and install it on ur pc before we all murder you!
this could very well be the end of the world.. of warcraft!
We are looking for a great night by the name of "Loves to spooge"
ANYWAYS...
Now we have:
- Linage 1 = Likely possible/needs confirmation
- Ultima Online (original?) = needs confirmation
- WurmOnline(wild) = with difficulty
EDIT: As Tatum said, maybe if someone played 20 hours a day from day 1 of a release of an MMORPG... but level caps come into play... so they might be able to do it for a while IF the game permitted random killing without permission like a wilderness area out of towns...
It sounds like Ultima Online is the most likely so far... it just hasn't been confirmed by another player. Any other ideas on what games people could actually do this in?
Thanks!
Regards, Negatrom
that difficulty would pretty much be near impossible... it's a community game you need a couple others atleast to live... random player hunting is pretty unfeasible since the world is so large and the areas where you're sure to find someone with no work are 'owned' by some shard of the community or another.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
People don't have to agree to fight in WoW if on a PVP server. So, this kind of thing happens all the time on there between level 70s and, oh, people level 65 or lower.
Being jumped by a high-level isn't always bad. I had a level 40 or so on WoW and got jumped by a level 60. Had a few other level 40 buddies nearby and we killed him. I'm sure that was rather embarrassing for him.
