Mark Jacobs was at my site tonight, chatting with everyone in a lengthy, impromptu chat session in our ShoutBox. I just thought I'd share what he said about Closed Beta:
"Don't give up, we're going to be letting in more people soon. Need to get past the RvR stages and then we'll be letting more in."

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

It would be cool if people who have claimed the CE open beta codes could get into closed beta!
Heh, I honestly gave up on Beta invite for WAR, I had applied for over a year...a whole year of daily checking of email and beta site thining "Ah! Today is the day!" now that the game is pushed back, I just have to stay focused.....The prize isnt the beta invite..the prize is playing the game when released. I can wait....I just have to stop checking my beta status daily.

I to have given up. I got the CE so I should see a few days of beta at some point though.
I'm trying not to think to much about it now, all hype and can't get my hands on it making things ... irritating.

It is kinda sad...I applied for the beta back in 2007 within the first week that the beta sign-ups were available and it has been at a stagnant "applied" status ever since then. As the game gets closer to Open beta ill probably just preorder and get in on that....or submit some of my artwork.

Look at all the poor decisions that drove thousand of players away forom DAOC to get a sense of what WAR development and management will be like.

I received the newletter, for the first time... after being registered for months... so... my hope is reborn.
I get the newsletter about every other month, maybe. Nothing consistent. Beta is for testing things out, not playing. I like that they are focusing the beta testers. Probably the first time in history!
I got the CE edition also. I still check my emails everyday and I to have been app'd for at least a year.
Not much else for me to do except keep on hoping an invite will be sent, although the chances of that happening are very slim.
Resign yourself to your CE open beta... jinxing yourself into the closed beta is the only way!
