make a final fantasy 7 mmo already

who wants a ff7 mmo? seriously why dont they do this already? it will be a huge hit its pretty much a guaranteed success. they would be sitting on a goldmine if they make an mmo based on final fantasy 7 setting. of course it would have to be good to unlike dirge of cerberus however you spell it.

I rather have them make new final fantasy mmo thats not based on any of the past final fantasy.  But unlike final fantasy 11, i want it to be a future setting like 6,7,8 or maybe something like a sci-fi fantasy like 12.

I like FF7 but personnally, i love FFXI online more as in the general FF serie.

FFXI use the basis of FF... "to face world crisis with help of friendship"  that is basically the trademark of all final fanstasy game.

While story wise if you played FFXI the story itself is tear breaking as you go deeper and deeper into the story and you will always see FFXI stay very true to their trademark.

The only problem people have with FFXI is that its simply the hardest FF ever existed and not many can really complete it because most battles are very difficult and you are playing with real players that doesn't have the skill you have.

Like ending battle of ZM is pretty hard itself and it took me over 10 tries to do while it took someone once to do it. The battles isn't about in terms of level but also skills of players hence FFXI is the hardest of all FF serie.

Why don't they do this? Well isn't it obvious? You can't just take any singleplayer game and turn it into an MMORPG. While Final Fantasy 7 is a great singleplayer RPG, the gameworld itself isn't fit for an mmorpg. Final Fantasy 7 focuses on a small group of characters in a struggle against evil and there is little going on in the world of Final Fantasy 7 besides that struggle.

FF7 was a great game, I had more fun in it then in any mmo. So let it be pls ! mmos can only destroy the setting ... look at wow.

And there are no guaranteed success in the mmo industie.

of there were to make an mmo based on previous FF Universes they would have to colaberate with the ones that a simular in genre. for example FFVII + FFX mmo cause they're both post apocolyptic/steam punk. either way i think that FFXI is an example of a mediocre MMO from SquareEnix. iunno i say they should give the MMO thing another go in the 2k10 decade. by that time.

ok heres the story. the weapons come back to destroy everything and its yours and everyone elses job to lvl up and get strong enough to beat all of them. and to make you keep coming back they keep popping up every once in a while. see you can make a story in a ff7 mmo. yes its corny but i dont see you all coming up with better ones. it can work you just have to open your mind to it.

I think a FF7 mmo would be a dream come true for me personally.

Of course... There is always the chance of the world of FF7 being ruined by introducing it as an MMO. However, with the release of Crisis Core, and Advent Children, SE already has a really stable history that the game could use as lore.

Chances are though, I don't think we'll ever see a FF7 MMO sadly , and SE already confirmed (From what I've heard, correct me if I'm wrong) that their next MMO won't take place in any of the worlds from past Final Fantasy games.

Final Fantasy XI ( as in 11 ) is an mmo. All the others are singleplayer,

How would the weapons come back after i killed them all back in fifth grade.  Even if they could come back they cant because the earth created them to defend against jenova, so theres gotta be a huge reason for them to be created.  Plus I am sick of the characters in FF7, they are made for teenagers unlike in FF6 where the characters are more mature.  Kefka > Sephiroth (mamas boy)

Anyway it would be better if square made their new mmo in a world thats realy fit for a mmo and new unique back story.  FF7 and every other singe player FF worlds are too small for an mmo.  Just because the singe player game was awsome doesnt mean the mmo will be.  For instance Lord of the rings book and movies are awsome but the games are not that amazing, all the singe player ones suck and the mmo is ok.

lol my sympathy goes out in massive proportions to the developers when I read posts requesting things like this. God bless them and what they have to put up with.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

umm, Kefka is not a mature villain. Kefka was intended to be a "clown - like villain" right from the start. The characters in FF7 are much more mature and developed then in FF6.

Tell me one character in FF7 more mature than Cyan, Shadow, Terra, Celes, Locke from FF6, plus to me the characters backgrounds had more of an interesting history and depth also even optional characters like Shadow.  Kefkas plans actualy worked unlike Sephiroths, he is so much more evil and twisted.

You guys simply don't get it right?

what is the differences between FFXI (the MMO of FF) vs FF7 even if it become MMO?

    a big absolute nothing!

So you might encounter cloud and his gang once again following sepiroth in his plot to destory man kind. what is the point? it is dead... let's not revive him once again.

What else will you see different from FF7 being a MMO? limit break? material ? or a casino?

    nothing!

FFXI have them all! unless you want to play Time-turn-base which FFXI is already is with the "hidden" blue bars.

FFXI have limit breaks, they have summons , and they have all magic. While FFXI might set in the "castle and dragon time", but futuristic MMORPG aren't quite successful ... Look at RFonline, look at Anarchy online... those aren't successful at all.

People still love castle and dragons and tarutaru no matter what.

    Beside FFXI have it all!

WEAPONS ... Omega weapon and utlima Weapon ! try beat them! (they are so damn tough)

Airship! Ships and CHOCOBO breeding! CHOCOBO race too!

Now FFXI have poketron! and alot of stuff.

The only thing FFXI lacks is a casino.... which there are already too many "player" made casino ALREADY.

try FFXI before you ask for another FF. If you can't play FFXI, you won't find any FF MMO even if they remake FF7 into MMO any fun. Since force grouping will ALWAYS AND ALWAYS happen no matter what/, FF is about group of people bond together to face a crisis. Not someone decide to run in alone and be some heros. Japanese is all about teamwork and co-operation, it is their label, you are not going to find any "japan" make MMO without "grouping requirement".

    Thankyou.

What most people don't realize is that FFXI is still top 5 in MMO sub's. It's still beautiful compared to other dated games. No one really gives credit to FFXI. It's without a doubt the best MMO I have ever experienced.

Seriously, if you are truly a fan of FF7, which happens to be my favorite game of all time, let it go. It was as perfect as a video game can be and thus should be remembered that way. Let's not beat a dead horse until it becomes "oh, another FF7 thing". I want to remember the experiences I had in that game and that world at that time. I do not want a false making of the story or to simply be a part of the wonderful adventure. I want to be Cloud and his friends, and I was. So please let my favorite game of all time rest in peace.

A new Final Fantasy MMO would be cool, but I hope they do it alot different than the origional FF11...That UI is horrendous, the camera control is annoying...

But I will always disagree that FF7 is better than FF6, FF6 is a far more developed world, the characters developed beautifully for it's era, and over all it has the most potential for a MMORPG world as a whole. (FF6).

I have to say that, quite honestly, I think that FFXI is all the MMO that the Final Fantasy series needs at the moment.  Also, with all the games already out in the FFVII line currently, it might be a good idea to give the series a rest for a while so that the fans don't start to get sick of it via oversaturation.  But there are a number of other established series' that could use some MMO love (even in Square's own library of titles).

I think a good place to begin would be Chrono Trigger.  A time travel MMO has been considered from time to time, and something like this would be a great chance to test it out.  Players getting whisked away to different time periods, and changing all sorts of things about the world while they're in the past.

Final Fantasy Tactics could be turned into a great MMO... although I think somebody already beat Square to the punch there.

Outside of Square, there's also a little Nintendo franchise that might make a good MMO.  Earthbound.  Personally, I'd picture a 3D MMO version of the series playing a bit like Psychonauts, with a good bit of strange humor thrown in for kicks.

Sega has some experience with the Phantasy Star Online series, and I can't help but wonder what would happen if they took what they've learned there, and put it to use on a Skies of Arcadia MMO.

honustly i think ff11 is the most boring mmo out there. i was so bored the first 5 minutes playing it i just shut it off. i mean the characters fighting look bored why should i bother playing it? what i was hoping if they do remake ff7 they would put the battle system used in crisis core or ff12 in it.

  • ElRenmazuoElRenmazuo Member RarePosts: 5,361

Why does it have to be FInal Fantasy, why not their other titles such as Xenogears and Chrono Trigger which to me had way better story and world.  Especialy Chrono Trigger with its time traveling.  I realy wish square would just give Final Fantasy a break and work on those other titles.  Xenosaga was not made the way it should have been because of square holding the rights to Xenogears and doing nothing with it, although Xenosaga still turned out very well.

  • ASmith84ASmith84 Member Posts: 979

xenogears and chronotrigger are both good games. i would not mind them being made into mmo's either. they werent as big of a hit as ff7 was though and i would think that an ff7 mmo would do better.

I would like to see the environment of FF8 put into an mmo. Ever since I played that I always thought being in such a school would be pretty cool.
