Im a long time mmo player, started with original eq and moved from there as the years went by and it lost it main player population.
I recently gave up WOW after growing tired of the rep grind and the 4+ hour raids.
I Played eq2 for a while and have considered going back to it but getting groups was a major pain then, and im not so sure that much has changed. Even with a guild it was hard to find groups for stuff, and my toons were both in mid 50's.
Tried guild wars, didnt like it. Same with CoV.
Currently i am playing LOTRO , a nice game all in all but i find myself getting bored with it rather quickly.
I know AOC comes out next moth and while i would like to play this one, i dont think my comp at this time can run it and i am not in the market to upgrade or get a new one at this time.
Warhammer is too far away to be in consideration at this point.
So is anyone playing any good mmo's out there now that arnt in this list, Ive seen tabula rasa but never gave it a shot. Have heard way too many bad things about both vanguard and starwars. but in truth ive never played either for myself.
Im just kind of stuck right now, If i knew that the eq2 population had improved since last i played, (before kunark release) id probably go back to it, but its just too hard a call to make until i do some looking around into it.
Any ideas would be great .

Tabula rasa indeed sucks atm imo.
EVE Online has a huge population all on one server (no lag) and you can pretty much do anything.
Anarchy Online is fun if you like complex and deep sci-fi gameplay.
Alright, those all sci-fi games, here are some fantasy:
Pirate of the Burning Sea is a fun thrill ride being a pirate. Can hold you over until WAR or AoC
Despite being a little old, Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online can both hold you until AoC or WAR.
Right then mate, now, how about Anarchy Online? It has an awsome community, albiet a bit small compared to the big names. However, the skill/class/and faction system just blows the com size issue out of the water. Also, recently, Funcom revamped the engine of the game, so that the gfx looks better, a bit like AOC.

If it isn''t broken, fix it until it is.

When are they releasing that gfx upgrade?

Well on the same boat as you but i would suggest you try looking into Vanguard in a bit more detail since i've been getting postive information that the game has improved a lot but i wouldn't know since i dont play. Apart from that we're all waiting for that 1 mmorpg that will get us as hooked as WoW did at first...
