Please note that I'm not being sarcastic here a Lobo you are one of the forum posters here that post things sometimes that have me laughing so hard I fall out of my seat, which is a good thing.
That said, you may want to just wait until you can upgrade your Motherboard, CPU, video card and Ram. I know that if you are one of the types who isn't afraid to take the case off and work under the hood you can complete that upgrade for around $400. I just looked at Newegg and saw a $120 GFX card, $100 Mobo, $50 Ram and $120 Core 2 Duo processor. You may want a different power supply as well which adds anothe $20 or so.
Reason I say wait is I'd hate for you to try to run it and it not run well and that experience put you off from ever trying it if you waited til later to get a new machine. Hope that makes sense.
"Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..."
get a good cooler then just overclok it...you can add an extra 1ghz to that easily...
What he said... beat me to it.
Assuming that you do have everything else up to date, all you'd need to do is add an extra ghz. It's about 50 bucks for one at most stores, but newegg is a lifesaver if you're not afraid of shopping online (I particularly don't like it just because I like keeping credit card info safe, but that's just me). I saw a deal on NewEgg of 2ghz going for about $44.99 (40 bucks off it's original price).
Aw come on Hrica, there might be a bottleneck there with the 8800GT and a dual-core Intel 1.8GHz. Spend more money on the processor and a little less on the PSU.
Also, you have a MicroATX Mini Tower case there but the mobo's form factor is ATX so I don't know if it will fit...
I love Newegg. I built a new system for $437.38, including: CPU, RAM, Case, Mobo, GFX Card, and PSU. The most expensive thing on the list was the CPU - an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Brisbane 2.7GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor at $110 when I got it.
If you do order from Newegg, try and buy products that have the most reviews, and take advantage of the newsletter promo deals and free shipping.

You ABSOLUTELY DO NOT skimp on the PSU. He can lower it the 450vx though from corsair to save like 20-30 bucks. The e2160 overclocks nicely, should be able to do around 3 ghz on stock voltage and stock cooling. Overclocking is not that hard, and if one isn't into overclocking then they should go AMD at this price point like you have.
It all depends if the OP is willing to overclock or not.

ahh give me a break bud, that was a quick list, not much research.
if you do end up upgrading your computer, don't get the 8600gt/gts, they were a waste of money when they came out and now the 9600gt is out, they're an even bigger waste of money. Get the 9600gt, it's like $50 dollars more but many times faster.
My PC is almost 4 year old The CPU is 1.8 Ghz (yes single core) AMD Athlon 2000+ This is below minimum requirements , as listed on AOC site. Assuming that i have up to date graphic card and 2gig ram. Will I be able to play ?
I actually recommend just getting an entirely new computer. We all know that minimum requirements really mean just that: minimum. Meaning that if you set the graphics sliders to their lowest setting, then you'll be fine to play with the minimum requirements.
Computer gaming anymore requires up to date machines. I actually get a new computer every two years to keep up.

i'm sure you'd need to upgrade your cpu also. 1.8 single core is pretty old

Chavez y Chavez
Damn.
I guess that any upgrade is useless with my CPU.
pretty much. might as well get a new system.

If only SW:TOR could be this epic...
Yes you must upgrade.
I can not say how I know, but I do know that older single AMD processers (XP) and pre Pentium 4 processers not compatable with the client
Here is a rig that will run the game and others great for around $500
