Hope this will be as great as I think!

Darn, I'm getting my hopes up. Almost everything I've seen and heard about this game is great! I've heard nothing but praise over the combat system, graphics and quest design. I'm personally really looking forward to city-building and keep battles.

I'm almost counting days, I have an Age of Conan wallpaper, etc. Not good! With such high hopes, I'm almost sure to set myself up for some disappointment, seeing how MMOs usually fare right after release .

Anyone else getting his/her hopes up?

With so many lackluster games hitting the market lately .... I'm staying skepticleb ut hopeful.

I'm just happy that not every developer has gone the route of WoW and aimed at the lowest common denominator to bring in a larger player base.  They seem to be really into what they are doing and trying to bring something new to the genre so while I am hopeful that they succeed i'm sure there will be some let downs and kinks to work out at release.

Just don't get your hopes up to much about what the game is going to be like at launch, but instead about what they are trying to do with it and where it could go.

Arrogance? Really? Heh. You probably mean something else, or perhaps that 'saying' should be used in a different context.

As for people seeing/hearing what they want to see...that's common knowledge. Don't think yourself immune either .

Ive noticed that the less hype a game has the better it is,most over hyped games turn out crap or even worse.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do ProfRed (focussing on where the game could go). I'm not really expecting much content...only a few zones and quests, very limited city building, unbalanced classes, etc. As long as the basics are there, I can wait.

It's more related to the amount of money the Developers/Publishers can afford to spend on marketing than anything else. It certainly doesn't have to do with the quality of the game. If that was the case, all the poop games will be receiving the highest praise, which is not the case.

    hahah are u serious?

God forbid a game trying to be good because its good.  You can have all the marketing in the world, if the game is crap, then it is crap end of story, no amount of marketing will help it.

Yeah I got my hopes up very high. I pre-ordered the CE-edition (had to pay 100% in advance), I looked at all the footage available and I even started a countdown for the release, alledged open beta and one for the upcoming pvp weekend. So I truly hope Funcom doesn't shoot me down.

Well having to pay upfront for it is just crazy,At this moment it could be just about anything but I guess if you have the cash not to worry about it then fair enough.

I am hoping for the best but time will tell,If this game doesnt deliever then it will be a pretty gameless summer and along wait till Q4 for what could be just more dissapointment.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Well I have certainly got my hopes up as well but even if I don't decide to switch from my current MMO, what I have seen looks interesting enough that I should get my money's worth during the trial period anyway.

As long as it isn't like Vanguard where the game was physically impossible for me to play due to software bugs, I will just be happy to try something new.

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?
