Beggars Can Be Choosers

Ever here the phrase, "Beggars can't be choosers?"  Well I have, and I have been doing a LOT of thinking about the seeming downward spiral Blizzard recently started with Gated Content in World of Warcraft. Lifting the Key Requirements, Making Karazhan accessible by anyone Level 68+, creating comparative items to Kara items for Holiday Events, Allowing players to purchase PVP Seasonal Gear with Raid Tokens...I just have this to say..in regards to the Subrscriber Success which they currently have.

Here is the progression as I noticed it:

User-Friendly out of the box: AssWads were made happy (Asswad: Someone who uses the A, S, W, D Keys for movement) as well as people who wanted to experience Free Movement with their mouse. A fourth button auto-run mouse is 2 DIE 4.

Fair Amount of OverAll Quests and Options:  There where varieties of PvE and PvP for people. AS time went on new content was released. They kept an upward momentum never slacked on content patches and upgrades.

Raid Content: The content was there. A lot was patched but it was still there to some point.

Once their subscriber base grew as they REALLY emphasized Trial Accounts. The flavor they gave to the Trial Account was enough to hook many people.

After they reached 7 Million: Things really changed. While they still cared what the Vets thought and many things are still done to appease the Hardcore Raiders...new ideas and concepts were brought in to make the game fun and exciting for people to start out. EXP Boosts, No Keyying, Etc. Has given EVEN MORE people a reason to enter the grind that is WoW Crack. They will whether we like it or not continue to see increased subscriber counts because they followed that model. You cannot please everyone. You please the right people first when they are happy you focus on another "people group" until even more people are happy and if you have to switching back and forth becomes easier than having to "KEEP Everyone Happy"

In a world where, "Beggar's can't be choosers."  I say prove it! As of yet games are still catering to people that do not yet exist for them. Actually desiring new subscribers other than truly listening to and seeking to fullfill the desires of those paying to play their games. Whether we like or not, Blizzard has done a hell of a job catering to as many of their subscribers as phyiscally possible. Its MUCH more difficult to keep 8 Million people happy than to keep 100,000 populating their servers. With that in mind, Haters can go be Aswd's in another MMO while I wait for a nice, enjoyable Free Movement, Monthly Fee MMO that will blow my mind and keep me coming back for more. As long as Beggars can be choosers....MMOS will never reach their full potential.
