saw someone say that this game will be Eve but with twitch combat, and I would love that.
But... I find it incredibly unlikely (at least at release).
Thanks to all the terrible releases of MMOs lately, I probably won't even buy the game promptly, despite my desire to play an MMO like this one. It it manages to "not suck" I might end up buying it and giving it a whirl.
Awesome space battles without any clicking with the mouse!
There is just endless with possibilities here, just think going together with 20 of your squad friends against a gigantic capitalship, or being ambushed by an enemy in a roid field literally hiding behind one (if there is any kind of radar jamming that is)! Can't wait!
did that in JG classic.. Its called roiding.. park ur ship very close to a roid and u will dissapear from radar. There was just one bug with it, AI could see you, so you had to kill them or they would give away ur position.
was very useful if u was gonna ambush unsuspecting targets.
someone said that WoW is like McDonalds...well lately all MMORPGs are like McDonalds...noone really try to make difference
I am more SF fan than fantazy, and i will for sure try this game out...
What im hoping is combination of freelancer with eve online.
I tried Eve and only thing that lack in that game is ship control.
What i would allso like to see is multiperson runing ships, planets where you can land in some station and maybe, just maybe get some action there allso (crapy TPS would do enough )
Anyway...give more info
--------------------> Would you like some cheese with that whine?
Wish I had a lot of time playing online games to know better.
So, I would like to see some on world action and multiplayers on a ship. Where you have the chance to develope your charachter and hire onto or purchase ship and NPC's. Build businesses and ship fleets, mining operations on auto and building bases or stations.
In other words, all the things one can do in dice and paper RPG's.
I played eve for a bit after I finished JGC . I always said EVE model with JG flight physics would be the perfect game. After playing for a while i decided it wouldnt be hahaha.
I hope for a strong economy and skill needed to actually fly well . PVP I hope will need even more skill to defeat your oponant .
I played the game at connect 08 and it was very polished for an alpha but far too easy . That said the devs explained the game had been toned down for a new player experience and the ships had also been increased in size to make it easy er.
Im sure this will be tweaked a bit but all in all I was quite happy with what they have done so far. And yes I am a nasty veteran hostile JGC player.

I am hoping for what they are promising. JGC with a better economy and less reliablitiy on Player driven conflict. JGC was fun but, it got tedious at times with all of the player driven drama. At times you just could not tell WTF was going on.
I loved the political side of the game . I dont know if you were on the euro or US server but I certainly found on the euro server we had a great balance of player squad dynamics. Then again I was always up with the conflicts being a squad leader. I do understand your confusion at times though but I just found the whole thing exciting but thats just me.
JGE will be different Im sure but I hope it will keep the spirit of JGC.
The idea of a MMO in space always sounded appealing and after 3 years of wow I think a change of scenery might be nice :-) I'm really looking forward to it.
I was hoping for a synergy of EvE's massive scope and system and say.. swg:jtl style ships and controls
What we're apparently getting is consensual pvp zones and multiple servers to split up the userbase, and from the sounds of it it will be a space version of your typical wow like mmo crap
Anything will be great, as long as you don't pick missions from Npc's with a pathetic excuse of a story, a place to travel to, some farm to do, return and collect reward, rinse and repeat.
If they do away with the wow scheme, which is the hardest thing to do nowadays, i'll be there.

My hope is for finally a MMO version of Freelancer
I am keeping my finger crossed and hoping, hoping

Edit - Whoa! Elite member.
Something like Privateer Online Jumpgate style. Interwoven factions, endless possibilities, roles, choices and resulting consequences.
Eve + twitch = ideal for me
Everyone who has seen or even tried it says it looks and feels great. Still havent heard anything bad bout the game.. but it is still early to know.
I hope that this game immerses me as Freelancer and Jumpgate TRI did.
My cool sig: Turrets suck.

I'm hoping for X3 online, really.

Is that too much to ask? Huh?
I hope it is something much better than eve.

1) No instancing
2) A universe where the player effects it, not a static world to grind in.
3) Player structures which are destructable, and not so they cost 2 months of grind time, and take a bajillion hit points to take down ala Eve Online.
4) Automatic mining, like pre-CU SWG. So you don't have to manually mine yourself, and can spend your time fighting or doing other things.
5) No ganking lowbies
6) Full PvP (Doesn't have to conflict with #5)
7) Full loot
8) 100% player driven economy

Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them.
