I would probably buy one. I'm checking my city hall to ask wether owning exotic pets is legal (i'm thinking of buying a tiger image) and if it's illegal i will probably stick with the Siberian Husky.

A tiger? You're nuts.. never have a pet that can kill you in your sleep.

Nope, i'm not. Owning a tiger in the states is perfectly legal. There's an estimated 6000, to 7000 pet tigers in the united states alone. I just have to see if my city is allowing it.

Lately there's been a big trend in the poodle mixes, if you're ok with a mix.  We've got a shih-poo, which is a mix of Shih-tzu and Poodle.  Look at info and pics here:  http://www.petsandmore.ca/vdogshihpoo.html

Full-grown they're about 20-25lbs. or so.  Poodles are known to be very smart dogs, so you get that trait.  Sam was wonderful at puppy classes, and was just a star.  He's pretty easy to train and has a very loving, playful and attentive nature.  He's a real snuggler, loves people, loves going "visiting", and loves being the center of attention.  He's not yappy.

Since we got him, we've found that the poodle mixes seem to be very popular lately.  Most poodle mixes will need regular brushing to stay tangle-free, and possible trips to the groomer every few months.

Wow! Siberian husky! Are they dangerous? If not, that would be awesome!

    So, the showdown begins.

The Siberian Husky Vs. The German Shepherd!

I'm seriously leaning toward the Siberian Husky!

A siberian husky is what you call a 'working' dog. To be frank it needs waaaay more excercise and attention than i think you can manage, please dont get one unless you have atleast a few acres of land behind your house and like to go running/bicycling atleast twice a day for atleast an hour or so. A siberian husky that just gets to go for a short walk or sit in the backyard is borderline on animal cruelty.

My favorite dog is Leonberger, a mix of german shepherd, st bernard and great dane.. i think :p

You mean this dog!?! No thanks, I'm not that great with small dogs.

As for the Siberian Husky- you're right. I probably wouldn't be able to live up to the needs of the dogs. Especially because I'm entering college in 1 year! :[

Yeah, I don't want a little dog with frizzy hair. Like a Poodle, or a Shih-Tzu, or a Dachshund, or anything of the sort. I want a big dog that doesn't bite, or kill for that matter. I want a dog that doesn't sit around, but doesn't always run around the house trying to get you to go for a run. (Maybe that would be good for me though) I am DEFINITELY not getting a toy dog. (I'm not talking about electronic. I'm talking about dogs that fall into the toy category. It's a weird name, but they seriously look like toys.)

I want a dog that looks like a dog and can be a great companion. I want a trained dog that listens well. I could buy a dog that has already been trained in Europe or something for like $100,000.00. They sell them for a lot. I could send my Dachshund to an academy for dogs and have it trained in America for a mere $9,500.00! Or I can just go to the local library and read a little bit on how to train a dog and that is totally free. I'll go with option 3. Maybe I should train the dog I have now before I go out and buy a new one to have 2 pooping dogs and 3 barfing cats. Haha! I totally overlooked the whole animal aspect of the situation.

I'll just stick with what I've got. Maybe if I am 30 and lonely, I'll get a dog. hehe. ::::28::

I would go with the siberian husky. They are the closest things to a wolfimage and they are so cute when they are smaller!

Or you can call your local humane society or local SPCA and see if they offer training classes. These class the dog and YOU go :)

Also, a store called PetCo offers behavioral training classes for the dogs and their keepers. Fee yes, but no where near 9500 :)

Sometimes the keeper needs to be trained too in order to train their pet :)

    Good luck!

Ehhhh thats the dog that aunt has erm had (it died about year ago ( it was like 13  years old or something) She walked it every day for like an hour i belive. There really awesome though and very friendly to humans but to other wild life there quite vicious. There bark is awesome aswell its like a howl..so cool. Her dogs killed a chicken before a fox and some other stuff lol. Yeah i think it would be a bad idea for u to get one though since they need alot of attention and take alot of time to look after.

I will be getting a syberian husky hands down. They look so awesome. Unless there is some type of dog that looks similar to a tiger image.

hehe its a short-haired border collie, i've had him since a puppy. He's a rescue dog. image

Very very clever dogs, he knows alot of tricks.. open doors, rollover, shake hands, he has aload of toys and you can say like "Go get the ball toy" "Go get the rope toy" and he'll get the right one 9/10 times.
