1st time back in a year and....

in City of Villains

Wow! Loving every minute! I was stuck in the current mmo lull untill coming back here. This is a game that you just have to give patience... it actually gets better the longer you play! If only the other mainstream MMOs had HALF the features this game offers... but being a 3 month total player in the course of 2 years, I'm a half way noob so I have been happily finding new features just about every day. The level of customization in this game is unheard of to ANY MMO. Since the new player has no idea whats in store for them later I can see how it can be a turn off to some people. This game does have a slow start and it leaves you thinking "Is the whole game like this?" My character is level 37 now and there is A LOT of activites I can do.

Troll it if you want but I've played/sub'd to just about every MMO out there and this IMO is the Funnest thing out during our 'lack of creative(and good) games but a few Era'..... imo

    part of your excitement is probably that you've only played 3 out of 24 months.

     

    i do tend to like the 'city of' franchise; but um...

    could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

    While there are some hardcore vets out there, I get the impression (from here) that most people enjoy CoX for short spells -- tehy enjoy it tremendously while playing it and then leave only to come back again.  That's not meant to discourage you.  I'm a beta and launch player who has been subscribed a total of maybe 22 of the total 48 months it's been open.  I always love the game.     If they can stop nerfing and just think UPWARD, you will be able to enjoy the game in the long term a lot easier.

     

    I also fail to see how making XP twice easier to earn on every server will have a long lasting appeal.

     

    But this MMO is between 5-10 years ahead of any MMO released or announced...it is just that amazing.

    This game is nice. You get so much character customization you can actually screw up your toon pretty bad. Then there's the respecs. Other games like Lotro and Wow have like talents and traits but that's so very linear. This game has a whole lot of combinasions possible with the power pools and enchancement slotting. This is not a new game and most ppl use sort of a typical build (fitness, travel, primary/secondary) but that's not the only viable option.

     

    EDIT: oh and the graphics beat wow 10x

    First off welcome back!   Been subscribing since 2004 here myself .

    Second xp wasn't "doubled"  they increased it in certain ranges to smooth out the leveling curve.  Many people notice certain levels that just seemed to take longer so they fixed that to even out the progression more.

    Issue 12 coming out, I can finally get my villain Epic Archtype woot!

    I'm one of those that had been playing since beta.  I went from hardcore for about a year and a half to casual...then took about 2 month break and back.  Unfortunately I'm casual right now due to schedule and not by choice.  But I decided to start fresh as all those I used to play with had moved on.  Found a nice group of people(so far, hehe) and trying to see as much of the COV side as I can since I've seen pretty much everything on the COH

    Lol...PLEASE DO NOT get that guy goin on xp curve my brain hurts from reading his tears of nerfs and everything else cox has done to wrong his poor soul!

     

    lol I know i just opened up the flood gates but its fun god dammit !!!
