I got my PC gamer magazine and a 40k Game is in the 1st stages!!!! Right now its just artwork but ill take it!!!
I'll be playing both!!! OHH-RAHH for Warhammer!!!!!

Lol do you think when they release physical material people will be calling it a WAR clone? Makes as much sense as people calling this game a WoW clone. Though we'd have to call it W40 or something.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if someone went omg its a Starcraft clone..rofl. Its completely illogical but then so is the cry of clonedom.

I think i got that magazine too - had to read over it a couple of times to get my head around the fact there will be two mmo's with pve and pvp content both with Warhammer in the title released within around 9 months of each other.
Apparently the only way into the beta is to buy the latest expansion pack for some warhammer game.
What are you on about?? I know for a fact thats not the truth with WAR...as for 40k its still in the Design / Engine building stage they only started working on it / got the liscence this year so there's nothing but BS as far as Beta goes. Only a company that wants to cut its own foot off with the MMO populace would ever think up such a ludacris idea. I think you have been mislead or lied to or possibly misinterepreted something lol.

Nope, no need to think about it. They did fumble it in hideous ways. LouiseK mixed up the 40K MMO for DoW2 (which is an RTS from THQ/Relic that has made an announcement that people who have bought the Soul Storm X-Pac have some sort of bonus chance to get into the DOW 2 beta... It has absolutely nothing to do with the 40K or WAR MMOs).

They did not get the liscense this year, it was way back in March 07, and the time that they were allowed to star work with the liscense and when the liscense deal was announced are different.
That was a typo thanks for pointing it out.but if you think about it they've only had it for a year .. so its all still on Paper. We won't see WAR 40K MMO screen shots until probably next year...im guessing like Kyleran but probablya bout 2010 to 2011 for a release date. I'd like to point at that WAR is based off the fact that the Warhammer Fantasy MMO is called Warhammer: Age of Reckoning.
So, unless they call the 40K version: Warhammer: Age of Reckoning 40K, chances are, it will have a different title.

Call me a geek/fanboi whatever. I'm a big fan of the 40k storyline. That's why i'm hyped about this game. Yes, it probably will be 3+ years but I can wait.

It would make more sense to call Starcraft a 40k clone because 40k was created way before Starcraft.

Dam, need to try harder. Need more full page essay describing the differences between the two and how they came to be.
If it realy cames out it sould have a different style then any other mmo. I cant image a quest based mmo in the 40k universe. In the 40k world there is war allmost without any alliances. I cant believe that they will make 2 sides (good - evil) like in WAR.
Also the classes are very different in their power. A space marine is more powerfull then a tau, elder or ork trooper. I really hope they came up with something really new in the mmo scene, with the 40k ip they could risk it, the people would buy it anyway only because the lore.
Well but for the first Im looking forward to DOW2.

it's not going to be called W40 by just saying that porves to me you are not a real fan all true fans know it's called 40K ! Warhammer online will be a WoW clone and why i say this well there is no blood or gore at all just like WoW the combat system looks just like WoW only thing you have to do is take out the WoW classes add the War ones and i see the same game, if i ever try War and i am totaly wrong about it beeing a WoW clone i will come back and say i was wrong ...
Way to give me a damned dilemma...
