Okay, I been looking around some and once again I am left clueless and my lack of skill in finding information whacks me on the nose.
Friendly fire comes to my mind when I think of PvP in AoC. Why you ask yourself?
Well, I base this on my own limited intellect and that there are no "set" teams. What happens when Guild A is defending their keep and Guild B attacks it? Will the players be assigned to defender/attacker or how do you prevent friendly fire?
Easy answer to this is, well you cant killd guildies doh man! Well, then comes the other part. Other people will be around also when there are keep fights. From many diffrent guilds, some guilds perhaps want to help the defenders, some the attackers. There will be guildless ppl running around. How do they get sepparated? Or dont they? Will that powerful AoE thing you use kill friend as foe? Will it kill that Guild C guy who standing next to Guild B guy when you attack him? Leading to Angry Guild C who joins in on killing Guild A?
Well, hope you guys get what I am talking about out of this crazy rambling.

There will be no friendly fire, Devs said that you cant hurt anyone you are grouped with.
They mentioned this in the last issue of Beckit MOG (or however the title of that magazine is spelled).
When a keep is attacked... to be "there" you are going to have to be an attacker or defender. They give a pretty good explination there and I'm not gonna type that much.
So there are only going to be two sides..
Altho I always thought when I was playing Dark Age of Camelot it would be nice if aoe hit your own side.. I guess nobody else would have found it as funny as me tho.. *.*.
okay, that solves the keep thing. But in world pvp then?
And I take it everyone who are friendly to eachother wont be grouped. So group is not an answer.

Friendly fire is realistic, but not fun especially in an rpg. Aoe abilities almost depend on there not being friendly fire.
I can see some humorous encounter with barbaries swinging their axe and accidently hitting someone nearby not in their party while questing. Or perhaps a stray lightning bolt from a ToS :P
I'm wondering if there will be a toggle so you can't accidently hurt someone not in your party. yes, it's FFA pvp but you don't want to accidently piss people off.
Aoc does NOT have friendly fire.

I imagine you can attack anyone your not grouped with or is not in your guild....
Perhaps they'll allow it on the FFA server. If there is a FFA server.
This has to be the lamest thread of the day.
And how can you have true combat when you don't have to worry about where you're aiming. A MMO with friendly fire isn't a well-accepted concept I think, and if one comes, it won't be soon.
