Sorry to the people who like them. But I don't really understand why they exist
They look like the DWARVES.
Why not, for example, BLOOD ELVES or NAGA in Alliance?
Someone explain me the GNOMES's goods please!!

Because Gnomes have always been there as an inventor class and key to Allience victories in the past. This one you really need to think outside the box on, just because they were not in the last RTS does not mean they were not part of the overall storyline. People have to let it go, that because you didn't see them in th RTS, that they should not exist. Blizzard bases their game off the storyline they have created to make WoW more real to the players and gnomes are part of that saga.
As for Blood Elves and Naga...they do not side with either the alliance or the horde...as mentioned before the Blood Elves have reason to despise both factions. These races are really a third faction and I doubt Blizzard wants to add on any other factions at this time.
Besides...they are sooo cute...

Let me ask you this...Why Humans? They look so much like dwarves. Only taller of course. And why would you want Blood Elves? Humans with pointy ears and a grudge against everything.
Why Tauren? Why not dog people? Or why Horde vs. Alliance? Why not fish vs. people? Or people vs. fish?
I'll tell you why exactly I think Blizzard put in gnomes and everything else they put in. Because it is their game, and they will make it how they want. Oh yeah, not to mention the fact that Naga and Blood Elves have a grudge against everything that breathes.

Every game I've ever seen has tried to lead players with character controls. You always have certain race/class restrictions. In most cases Gnomes are the pure caster side of the dwarven race. Or you could say the Dwarfs are actually the hybred caster class of the gnomes. Some random work of fiction that I read, aeons ago, even speculated that gnomes and dwarves are of the same racial stock. They merely went into different directions - Dwarves are miners and Gnomes are tinkers. /shrug
It adds variety to your race choices which splits out your classes and tries to provide the player with a greater opertunity for role playing. Blizzard has actually (as mentioned) maintain continuity with their games, racially speaking. Providing the gnomes with a purpose, a function, historically, within the game, for being there. Sure, Bliz could have said the Elves did these things, but by adding another race to their history, look at how much story it opens up for them now

I hate the Night Elves in this game. Because if you look back at the history, they screwed things up for everyone. Those losers and their magical cravings. *Shakes fist at Night Elves.*

Yeah they did screw things up a bit, but some of them also stopped the first demon invasion...but only after flooding half the world and creating the Naga...hmmm...you are right damn those Night elves...hehe
How did the first demon invasion arise? The Night Elves were using the magical energies of the pool and alerted that on Titan guy renegade thing. So, if they hadn't been using the pool, it would have all been avoided. But even still, if they hadn't used it, humans wouldn't have been created nor High/Blood Elves.

Very true..a curse and a blessing...but how did all that create the humans...I didn't read that part...I think??
