PvP is back in EQ2?

Could it be? The 4th installment of the VIP fansite event.
They said that there wont be PvP at launch but what they want to do with PvP down the road is nothing like we have ever seen before.
Could it really be true? EQ2 is planning to implement PvP in EQ2 sometime down the road?
I could almost actually preorder and play now.
Kunou can you give your opinion on this? Am I just assuming. Or do you think there really will be PvP at one point.

Moorgard was quite rude in the EQ2 forums by telling us PvPers to get lost. And that they had no plans for it ever.
Now they are saying that they already have the plans worked out.
So come again? K didnt think so.
Well, this is what i saw in the FAQ portion of the EQ2 website...
Will there be player-versus-player (PvP) combat?
Just as the original EverQuest was geared towards PvE (player vs. environment), EverQuest II has a similar focus. PvP combat will be possible, yet in a way that does not negatively affect non-PvP players.
So i just kinda figured it out for myself. I trust that the devolopers will take into consideration of what the public wants.

Eh no PvP at release is still a big deal for most people. No one wants to play a game for months and months and months only to find out that they have to start all over on another server just to PvP... who wants to do that? I for one dont. I dont expect EQ2 to have PvP at all. Just watching the fileplanet videos it looks like the PvP combat would be crappy anyways (Slow and boring). PvP combat needs to be fast paced combat and fun.
I guess you can only play EQ2 for the PvE content or play another game that has both PvE/PvP.
And I dont just mean WoW =P... Im talking in general.

Maybe, SOE does have a bad rep I agree with you.
SWG sucked and still sucks to this day(pvp unbalaned, no new content, broken promises).
Planetside sucks and it still sucks to this day (unbalanced, no new content)
Everquest I have no idea I avoided it like the plague.
All the other SOE games suck I am assuming.
So will EQ2 will be any better? We can hope. It is a huge community. And it does look like a good game (granted it has PvP). Things change in time so maybe they are better at what they do.

Why is PS bad?
Ok well Planetside is fun at times.
Planetside sucks because the development sucks on it.
The weapons are unbalanced, like for example the anti air maxes. The VS and NC anti air maxes own. While the tr one sucks and doesnt even have fire and forget like the others. And what other weapons it has to compensate is inadequate.
No new content for the year it has been out. Every 6 months you get a new vehicle but thats about it.
The Core Combat expansion is broken and no new development have come out of it.
They are adding in battle island and battle mechs but how good those iwll be is skeptical. The battle Islands wthat I got a chance to test out are just smaller maps of what theya lready have at an even worse quality.
Balance changes that they do are iadequate and dont even work usually. Like empire incentives and weapon balances.
Its just a game that is dying. Its aggravating if you play it awhile.
It is fun if you dont care about any of that and you barely play. if you playf or awhile though you start to notice it all and it gets annoying.

I thought PS was cool
Planetside sucks simply for the fact that you have to pay to play it, whereas BF1942, UT2k4, and every other multiplayer FPS game is entirely free, aside from buying the box, and frankly most are a lot more balanced. the only thing missing in those is that your character isn't persistant. Not that that's worth that much.
