What the heck has happened to these forums.. I've been following this game since they started on here  and conversation was usually pleasant.

 Now it's like a bunch of whacked out heroin addicts waiting to get a fix.

 I sure hope the AoC devs don't listen to 99% of the forums here because what kills artistic value more than a critic.

    Most people who put down AOC . is hardcore WAR fans..

     

    Please tell me if i am wrong!! WAR And WOW looks the same !! i think only thing what makes WAR  different is the story and PVP..but everything else from toons and class is the same..even the quest

    Ppl here complain about anything they can about this game...complain the beta isn't a perfect game, complain about downloading the game for their beta testing, complain that open beta isn't truely open. Then complain that they are limited to play only 13 lvls if they do make beta. I think prolly the simplest thing for the complainers to do is shut up, leave the game alone...and the forums for about a year. Then come back n do their free trials. Lotta ppl mistaking a 'BETA' test for a free trial of the game.

    Being a bit of a hypocrite aren't you? Crying about WAR before you have even played it. I still cannot figure out how people claim WAR is just like WoW, saying the only difference is the PvP. Well, thats one huge difference, in fact, it makes it completely different game altogether. Why? Because thats the main focus of the game, PvP.

    Its like saying democracy and communism are the exact same thing because they are both governments and are "supposed" to benefit the people.

    Me? I look forward to seeing how both games turn out.

    I know what you mean. I hardly visit this board anymore because its too full of doomsayers. It's really annoying because most people here have already made there decisions to buy it or not to buy it.  Personally I'm not afraid to put down the money for it. If I don't  like it, I'll try the next game that comes along.

    QFT. If it wasn't for Avery and maybe a few others this board wouldn't have any factual information at all about AoC and instead would be completely consumed by people who have nothing good to say about any game. As for devs reading this board, I highly doubt it. If you can say one thing about all this forums it's that they pretty much let you say anything you want when you want. The bad side to that is you're going to see way more bad, founded in truth but most often not, than good.

    This same thing happened with LOTRO, DDO, and Vanguard (those were the games I've followed on this site). While yes, Vanguard got it's ripping here and it was deserved, the other two turned out to be pretty decent games.

    If you want even-handed, objective discussion about this game or any other, there are forums out there. If you want "This game is going to blow because Vanguard blew and the NGE blew (granted it did blow) and I don't care if there is footage of X feature showing it in the game, it's not in there I say and nobody buys computers since 3 years ago so I don't know why developers are creating games that you pay to play for and that require better hardware/software", well, look no further.

    And sure, it's a fair enough question to ask if I feel this way why do I even come here. Well, it's like a car wreck. Everyone wants to see the gore. That and the news on the homepage is pretty good.

    I dont know avery very well, but what I do know is he apparently lives this game.. So, nothing against him, but what he says about the game should also be taken with a grain of salt.

    I know tons of people that get their hopes up, and will not take no for an answer, and "try" to make themselves like a game.

    people get so desperate for something new, and follow games for years, and even though it's really bad, will not say anything bad about the game because they have waited so long.

    I really wanted aoc to be mine and my guilds next mmo, but sadly, it's not our style. The constant clicking, while something new in mmo';s I guess, does get old fast.

    The feel of no rhyme or reason to combat, click,click,click,(or button mash) loot... rinse, repeat.. there was really no reason to think about your attacks, combos, pvp fights were over as fast as you could click a combo.

    I expected bugs, lag, and all the beta stuff.. I was more interested in the feel of the game..and it wasnt there..

    hope it works out for people who "really" like it and not try to make themselves like it..

    it deffenetly has a more modern style further from rpg and closer to action. its not for everyone but i found the pvp to be alot funner and less hectic than any other mmo Ive played, but a friend of mine also got in couldn't stand the combos and couldn't get a handle on it

    on consoles he mainly plays classic turn based i play more action so this games combat really reflects that

    Are you talking just  about  this weekends beta . Because that is just a small part of the game from what I can tell. also you are right about wanting and waiting so long  thet you dont want to say its bad if it is. To bad the game isnt for you and your guild I think this game is going to be the real deal.

    I prefer turn-based strategy games like your friend does and I'm having a blast in this PvP weekend. It just depends on the individual. Some people dig it, some don't. I'm only taking a short break now to post a few things, get a sandwich and I'll be back in the fight here in a few.
