At this rate, i will have it downloaded at monday, when probably i will have 5 minutes to see the graphics of the game... That in case i still have ppl in torrent to download...
Stopping emule for this, i shouldnt have even try. If this is the way they do things this doesnt look good.
If this was ANY other game i wouldnt play it at all. I am getting more and more dissapointed with this game, hope this doesnt get even worse or i will become berserk.

Once you download the game, you have about 300mb worth of patches, and the installation will take 40minutes to 1 hour.
Dont know if this will help you but it worked for me. At times my downloads for the client dropped way down and after trying everything including turning off all security features I decided trying to reset my modem and after that the download went a lot faster. Just an idea, hope it helps.

Its not my router, i am downloading as fast as i can with torrent and the bandwith of my connection.
I shouldnt have started to download it...Not worth the anger i have against AoC devs now. I wasted my connection and pc energy for some days.
Maybe the game is great, BUT if we are going to see these kind of things happening in game, if we see that they dont care at all about ppl maybe its not the game. If it was free np, but spending lot of money in something that later you will have a very poor service maybe its not worth.

I don't understand why you are mad at the Devs. Did they encourage you to run on dial-up?
I think most people finished theirs in 4-8 hours. I finished mine a little longer because I was downloading through the middle of the night with less seeders and so forth. And honestly, if you do get it finished before tomorrow, you'll easily get through the Tortage Island section and be able to play quite a few PvP matches with multiple characters. But, if you are on dial-up, you won't be able to ever do a PvP match. Good luck.
SHeesh I am still downloading and it aint gonna look like ill make it for even an hour on Monday.
What a waste. They should give it another few days or have another pvp weekend for folks that take 3 days or more to download the game. Judging from the gamespot comments, I am not alone with this issue.
Stop trying to play on dial-up.
Guess it goes to show how many people lied about their pc specs and connection speeds. To many complaints about both.

Well I used the gamestop downloader thing and it took me about 12 hrs on a standard dsl connection. I did have to restart it a couple times to get the next file going but overall it worked ok for me.
Im sorry but its not the devs fault, its your connection speed. It can only go as fast as it can, thats not the games fault. Depending on when you started downloading the screen right after made sure you was aware of the size and also again depending when you got the email time to download it all based on the average user. I recommend an i-net upgrade.
Maybe it's time to upgrade...the Commodore 64 ain't what it used to be.
I have heard it is a 6gb download, in all seriousness if it is taking you that long to download 6gb there is something wrong with your network.
Don't confuse a players ability, with a class being Over Powered.

It could also depend on his ISP, in the UK some of the big ISP's have started serious traffic shaping of torrent packets, reducing them to a crawl even on fast connections.

Most ppl? Well, just check the gamespot messages in the download section. Tons of ppl complaining about the same.
I got my key Thrusday, and torrent said ETA of my download was several days, and i use 1mb dsl. 4-8 hours is impossible with torrent unless you have a very good dsl, so most ppl is not the truth at all, at least with the torrent gamespot source, that is the one i got officially.

Well, the downside of the torrent is that once people have the game, they probably shut if off and started playing the game -- worked well for everyone before Friday 4pm I'm sure but not so wise to use now I bet. I used the downloader wednesday night, took 10 hours to get the first three, then I switched to bit torrent to get file 4, left that on through like 10am on friday, then I patched.
It's not AoC, it's your illegal wire-tapping ISPs deliberately sabotaging your torrents... it is a huge issue that has been ongoing for a while now:

My connection goes perfectly well, i download with emule at 100kb/s, with torrent at 30kb/s.
Also as i saw it was going to go too slow ( it said a ETA of several days ) i stopped torrent friday and started with unofficial ausgames links that went dead at half download, and the rapidshare links were dead, so i restarted my torrent connection.
And i dont like being forced to install a dl, so i didnt use gamespot dl, cause they dont give the choice to download the game if you dont have his fucking dl that "tthey say" dont have spyware..
IT WAS VERY SIMPLE, if they just gave me a normal download from a web page i would have downloaded the game in the same day.
YOu try to blame me and the fault is the devs, they gave keys too late to be dl with torrent.

If you would of actualy checked the gamespot forums,you know the place were you got the beta.You would find a neat thread offering a 3rd (best alternative to download),if I were to use the torrent it would of taken me 2 days with the upload rate.I took the alternative and it took me 6 hours to dl the client,I started playing on friday.
This is happening in the USA as well. And despite violating California Law, the state of California hasn't done anything to address it.
So, its my fault, hahaha,i should have checked all posts to find a solution. I tried everything, i tried 2 different unofficial web page to dl the game and the links were dead.
So it seems the is a unknown link in gamespot forums, you say, that gave a link i didnt know. You didnt check what ppl said in AoC download page in gamespot, as i said tons of ppl complaining about the same than me, even ppl saying they would leave gamespot forever.

If you would of installed the GS downloader you would of been playing already. Just needed to uninstall after and do a system sweep job done. They made it clear the steps to DL included this at the start.
Probably but i dont install anything just cause they want to do so, if to play a game i have to install and unknown application in my pc i prefer not playing.
It is highly suspicious they force you to install an app, instead of just using your own dl.

That is a brilliant idea... in theory anyway. The GS downloader did not work for me at all. It kept giving me errors every time i tried to download the files. If it weren't for ausgamers.com hosting the files, i never would have gotten to play it. Gamespot is a joke.
