I think that the fun factor or meaning for CTF and the underling workings, are just too unknown at the moment, meaning its kinda of unfair to think ill of it.
Capes, yea they still need working on a bit, but I did notice that they move better since we saw them last back in the summer.
I think the game is coming along nicely and I can definately see the momentum increasing in what will be shown to us in the next couple months.

I dont think ill of it. Those who want should enjoy it.
I played a game some years ago that had seasons and seasonal spawns of ultra rare crafter raws. There was one spawn of the best amber ingame, but only in summer for 2-3days for 1 hour a day. (That was maybe 20 minutes spawn on 2 days every 4 weeks realtime). The amber was highly needed by casters and healers. Quite a few guilds where there to fight the others for the amber. That was meaningful somehow. It was funny though that of the 200 possible harvestable ambers more then 50% got destoyed while PvPing for them Cooperation would have been more efficeint. LOL, but it was meaningful somehow to fight for them.
Ugh, while I never expected Age of Conan to do particularly well, these videos now have me expecting a large letdown. Pity, too, because the MMORPG scene has been hurting for something good that is new for the past three years.
Where to begin...
1.) Slow
The combat simply seems slow, like everything is going through molasses in January. People stand there, swinging wildly, yet predictably (if that is even possible) which may indicate they are simply newbs, but it still looks boring.
2.) Poor artistic direction
Technically, I suppose the graphics are fine - a bit on the plastic side, but fine. But my gosh, the world feels so dull and lifeless, and the art lacks personality. The person in charge with the visual direction of the game should hang his head in shame for turning a gritty IP full of possibilities into this lifeless machination.
3.) Poor animation
The animations are fluid, I suppose, which is part of the problem - they lack humanity. There is no sense of mass or power in anything, key components in animation. The players seem to be more like ballet dancers in some choreographed play, rather than warriors. They just...float. Oh, and I am not even talking about the "skating", something I will not touch on as I assume that bug will be fixed.
4.) Unimpressive spell graphics
This speaks for itself. The graphics lack pizazz and just seem weak and ineffective.
5.) Sound
Okay, maybe they are not done the sound yet, as that is typically one of the last things implemented in a game, but the sound right now is terrible.
"Clink, clink, tap, tap, clink, ugh, "Blue flag dropped!" (in terrible, totally-out-of-IP fruity British voice), fizzle."
None of this sounded right. Where are the sounds that make me believe this is brutal warfare?
6.) Revolutionary combat? Where?
The heading says it all. Funcom touted this active combat system, or whatever it is supposed to be called, where you swing the sword, fire the arrow, etc., but while I supposed it must be experienced to be truly judged, right now it looks crappy. Nothing on that screen ever made me think, "Wow, combat looks fun and different!"
Overall:
The main thing I noticed is that the world and players in general do not seem right. Too delicate, too bland, too wimpy. I want to see Conan's world, not whatever this is supposed to be. And, with release supposedly only three months off, I worry about how good the released product will be.
I predict, at best, a lacklustre game, around the same as LotRO. Not good, not terrible.
P.S. Most of the comments on the videos are negative. While a forum for the game may be overwhelmingly positive, which is fair enough, I take that to be a better representation of the game's current perception.
sorry i googled the thread up.. and honestly these vids arent old.. they are 4 month old and from my expierence with beta games .. they dont change that much within 4 months so i doubt it looks very diffrent today...

Otherwise it looks good indeed.
