New comp/does it work?

would  a intel core q6600,3gb memory, nvidia geforce 8800GT 518mb..... be a good comp to play AOC on high settings?

or even play the game at all?

Currently a C2D 6750, 4 GB 6400 OCZ Reaper and an ATI 3870 are probably the best bang for your buck, using DX10 and Vista 64. How that will run AoC nobody but the closed beta testers knows I guess.

I have that setup with a 3850 256 MB and am running LotRO on max settings flawlessly.

edit: 4 GB are much more important than a slightly better CPU or graphics card. Major difference.

Just to give you guys something to compare to, here are my results from the PVP weekend:

    System

    C2Q E 6600 @ 3.0ghz

    4gb of ram

    8800GT OCed to 650/1900

    Vista Ultimate 64bit

    (all tests at 1600x1200)

Medium Settings (no AA): 60+ FPS

    Medium Settings (8xAA): 55-60 FPS

High Settings (no AA): 55-60 FPS

    High Settings (4xAA): 45-55 FPS

Basically I tried to keep a good overall frame rate with the most amount of AA I could get before it would drop down. I will say though that game looks just as good on medium as high, and you could hit medium settings on a modest graphics card.

    AMD FX-4300
    8gb DDR 667
    Nvidia GTX 770

You can build a very nice gaming system with that much money. I personally think you would get more bang for your buck if you were to go that route.
