They are not the same, we all know features as they are given by Funcom still even then they are not always implemented at release sometimes never.
Lots of people are complaining and called trolls because their mad at how MMO's are released. AoC is not much different than most with hiding PLAYABILITY, and we had all been burned before. Some of us think differently as we have a low tolerance for getting burned.
I have my OPINION and my view on AoC, and the way I look at it as Funcom is pulling some sneaky tricks, with using some fans for marketing, and PvP weekend as a prop. I did not even try to get a weekend key as I FEEL that it would not be a fair representation of the game, but thats my view my outlook and my opinion. We all have our own way of viewing an MMO ( glass half full or half empty )
REMEMBER you can't return MMO video games, and with 1-20 solo play, many more copies can be sold before this game can be rated after release.
Concerns about PLAYABILITY are unknown, and that is what is getting half of us mad !!!!

You can actually return single player games (PC or console) where you live? After you opened the package? Because lets face it, unless you open the package to install the game, you won't know how it plays, single or MMO.
It's a gamble of minor consequences. Some take it, some moan and take it, some wait before taking it to hear what others have to say.
Every game has to deliver in the long run. And it takes time in any game. It takes you 80 levels in EQ2 until you see (on your own) that there is no endgame but raid. Vanguard was good for 16 levels after release.
I bought 3 games in the last 1.5 years. I guess i can afford to buy AoC to find out about it on my own and to drop it if it fails.
OP does have a point on the difference between features and playbility. But yes, try it first, and in case of MMOs it is usually prudent to wait for trials.
You talk like you never been in the game and... then... whats the point on this? what about your "sneaky tricks"??? fans for marketing? and trolls for "unmarketing"? perhaps you are one of this last, trying to put some balance "on the field".
Hey I have a simple solution...if you don't like it...don't buy it! Wait a while, do the free trial thing...whatever gets you off. But really no need to come here boasting your opinion that it is a whole scam that FC is creating. Untill you try the game you really shouldn't be puttin it down one way or the other. FC wants to make money...just like every other company. To make money they need those monthly subs...so why would they try n screw everyone over?
