JenkzJenkz Member UncommonPosts: 95

CoH is awful game..it has a lot of problems, bug etc.
Getting the (Connection Lost To Map Server) ever 5-10 min on Adsl..
The Graphics arent that bad, it's just that it gets boring doing the same thing over and over..it's just not fun.

I only played it for 2 weeks..then stoped playing, got bored of killing the same things..the City zones Practically  look alike..so i didnt play no more..got sick OF IT!

I think Coh is a very good game for new comers to the genre of mmorpgs... also for hardcore players that dont like crafting, it can be very enjoyable for a month or so... plus with the realse of city of vilains I think it can win over some moer people... I personally played it for a month and got bored, but I played alot... so it really depends on the person...

Yeah, most hardcore MMORPGers probably should play CoH, especially those strapped for cash, but for the first time or casual MMOer, there is no better MMO available.  It all depends on what your needs are from an MMORPG.

The notion that anyone would listen to a guy with SOE logo for an Avatar is funny as hell to me.

...Now we just need someone with an Electronic Arts logo to tell us how to make a great FPS with matching support image

I can't stand this game (as most of you know), but to say it is full of bugs is just a blantent lie. I have never seen an MMO as ready for release as CoH. Even when there are a lot of people around it only lags slightly. The graphics would be awesome for a single player game let alone a MMO.

This game has it's problems but graphics and bugs aren't in the list.

    Ok. Here's the real deal.

If you like a Diablo type MMO rpg where its good to blow off steam for a few hours then go play something else or log off, then CoH is great.

If you're looking to immerse yourself totally like that first time you played EQ, UO, DAoC (insert favorite old game here) then CoH is worth playing for about a month, 2 tops.

I waited 3 years for the game, got in beta, then only played for a month and a half after release.

It was and still is highly stable, but even after bringing my whole guild over from SBane, we all got bored.

All in all it does its thing really well for casual gamers, but this isnt the one to devote your life to.

SOE has maintained the longest running, most successful MMORPG in history.  I realize that there will always be people who try and sound cool by bashing anything that's popular, but in point of fact, when it comes to the MMORPG market, (and that is, after all, the point of this board) SOE is the absolute, undisputed king.

If you have problems with something the guy actually wrote, say so.  Writing snarky comments about his Avatar seems a little juvenile to me.

Don't let SOE blind you by their sheer amount of MMORPGs on the market. Just remember, quality over quantity.

Here is my two cents worth:

The game is actually very well done, however it lacks in the immersion aspect. If you played SWG and liked it, then you will probably like this one. But for you fantasy based game fans, this will not cut it for you. I lost interest in this game after three weeks, but only becuse I was wanting something different at the core level...fantasy. City streets, modern thugs and cars driving around just reminds me too much of the real world, not to mention that the scenery does look repetitive and slightly bland after awhile. And not to mention there is no "pet class" which really turned me off because thats all I really like to play. image

There is a pets class. Controllers get pets later on at higher levels.

He didn't say anything about how many MMO's SOE had, he said that they have the longest running most successful MMORPG of all time. Simple statement of fact.

They bought out the most sucessful and longest running MMO, and they made it horrible.

Indeed, there is a pet class as we all know. However, I was not too pleased with how Cryptic designed pet actions in general. For example, if you go up an elevator or zone, you have to make a new pet because your previous one is stuck in the last zone or floor that you were on. Thus, the pet respawn would either make you wait for numerous minutes, or get you killed because of no offence  and a meat shield to a mob. Not only that, but also the inability to actually 'control' the pet's certain attacks. Once the pet is made, it has a mind of it's own to attack whatever stands in its way; which actually got me killed once, and got one or more people to think that I KS because my pet attacked their mob, when really I was just trying to get to a certain area.

The ordeal with controller pets is another reason why I quit CoH about three weeks a go. For now or until CoV (hopefully will address the most notable problems people are not happy with), I am paying my MMO money elsewhere.

In my opinion the game isn't that bad.  It lacks a certain amount of content that's for sure.  The problem I had was that I never really felt as a part of the world in there.  All I did was kill mobs and that is probably not that much different with other games but I just feel more of a connection to those other games.  The fact that I am more of a fantasy-setting player plays a part as well of course.

The game is far from bad and I would recommend it to the casual gamer; just not to the hardcore addict player.  Like a few people already pointed out; this game is pretty good for newcomers to the MMORPG stage.

If I recall correctly, SOE funded the longest running, most successful MMORPG to date.  Verant was the actual developer for EQ.  Sony just flipped the bill.
