DirectX 10

What's this I'm hearing here and there about the game not launching with DX10 support? Wasn't that supposed to be like one of the "major things" it brought to the table?

I tried to find info on it being "cut" myself, but I cant find anything in particular.

Anyone got any details regarding this?

There will be flying cows in AoC.

No official word on it being cut and it has been demoed at least few times so I kinda suspect this is similar to the rumor I wrote above.

Actually what was told is that the beta test client does not currently have directX 10 support. As far as I know, the developers stated that the directX 10 support will be available on the released client.

Whats your source,.. marketing? , I have some tecnicals contacts, and these people say is a improvement, could be a improvement over SPEED.  Stilll.. seems today games are SLOWER with DX10. So seems DX10 is still NOT DELIVERING.

    (sorry the use of caps)

This is the first I have heard of this. Will these be milking cows or beef cows?

not really sure to tell the truth.  I dont really care either.  I have a DX10 card but no windows vista, and i dont plan on investing in Windows Vista either, so i think i will live with my classico DX9 :)

I read an article recenty about Vista and it's support...wish I could find the link. From what I gathered...Microsoft already has plans for another OS, dont quote me on this..I think it's called "Windows 7". It appears they realize that Vista has many issues and it may become the next windows ME(mistake edition). After reading that article I've wondered if Vista will be worth the investment in the long run. Vista may be a "filler" OS until the next one is released.

That is exactly right. In fact, Micro$oft has apparently moved the planned release for "Windows 7" from 2010 to next year. Makes you wonder doesn't it? The more I learn about Vista, the more I think it truly is Windows ME all over again. Just another money grab attempt by M$.

There are no flying cows.  Lets stick to facts

We are working hard on the features we haven't shown off in beta, features we have held back on purpose to have some new revelations at launch. Among these are spellweaving, massive PVP, and DirectX 10 [graphics].

No - current beta does not have DX10 atm.

Thank you for the clarification, I guess there must have been some sort of misunderstanding.

If thats true, its just ridiculous...I know Microsoft love a good money grab, and since they have a virtual monopoly theyve become pros at it. I reckon ppl are gonna get extremely annoyed this time if MS jumps the gun to early. If only small business would get to grips with Linux and open source...thats where the problem lies.

You, in fact are wrong. There are flying cows in Age of Conan and I have personally seen them in PvE part of the PvP test weekend. Screenshot.
