New Blizzard MMO

Musket-SquidMusket-Squid Member UncommonPosts: 386

By now everyone knows that they are working on a new one at the moment, but has anyone found out what it is? Is it Diablo online or Starcraft? I would like it to be SC myself as I have already did the fantasy this with WoW and got bored of it. Have't played ina few months so I think I have broken this virtual crack that had a hold of me.

How many delicate flowers have you met in Counterstrike?

I got a case of beer and a chainsaw waiting for me at home after work.

The announced it awhile back. No title or if it is a new property or old one (sc/diablo).  I have a few friends that work at Blizz and they told me that it would be years before it is released. They said its only been in the works for almost 2 years, but the main people from the wow development team moved over a year and half ago. Don't hold your breath for it anytime soon. I am not even sure SC2 will be out this year, as they haven't moved into the beta stage yet.

I wasnt hoping it would be out anytime soon. Just curious to see/hear what it was. SC2 probally has another 2 yrs left on it knowing how long they take to put something out.

I've seen rumors about World Of Starcraft going out to pair with WoW, is that even a fact?

I had a friend in art school who worked at Blizz too, he said there was a team working on Diablo 3. This was almost 2 years ago, but it seems to be Blizzards standard of development (which has great results). I def want to see the Diablo series return, be it MMO or Classic channels/player created games.

Take it for whats its worth.

I have a friend, who maybe be linked through any number of middle friends.

That is a new IP. If you know anybody who works are blizzard, you would have heard that most all the lead artists and big names in the company were moved into a new project a while back. If it makes the light of day I dont know, but they are one point were working towards a new IP.

Blizzard is the number 1 gaming company and by now we know that they dont take things that easy...

they are number 1 and they will stay number 1 in the future as well and with the current state of world of warcrafts success, there is no need to announce a new mmo anytime soon...

"world of starcraft" would just be toooo easy for blizzard, I doubt that this will be the new title :)

maybe "Starcraft Online" but not "world of starcraft" I can guarantee that...

My secret dream is that it is a SC MMO.  However, with as big as they are now...the time WOULD be ripe for them to push a new IP.  OF all the gaming guru's out there...I think I can safely assume most of us would probably at least give Blizzard the most benefit of the doubt when it comes to new IP's.

Now, if they are smart....it will be something that really breaks MMO ground.  Truth be told...if they think they can ride WoW until this comes out and it, in turn, be a game just like it but with better graphics and still be a massive success...they are in for a tough ride.  EQ has already taught us that this system does not work.  But, who knows.  I do enjoy speculating...I even wander into Blizzards "Apply now" page to see what talent they are bringing in for the new team.  I can say this...the requirements to even be considered for most of those positions are pretty high.  Most involve you already having not only worked in that area of the industry for 5+ years...but also having shipped an AAA game.

My uncles cousins brothers aunts grandmas second cousin twice removed said that blizzard is going bankrupt due to all of the relatives of friends of people that they have hired.

    Too many employees.

I just hope it's not Starcrap.  Diablo 3 as an MMO would be fine, but I do like Elves and Orcs and such.  A WOW2 done without the cartoon graphics and cartoon humor, and with the addtition of an "enforced" naming policy, and a death penalty that stings a little, would be sweet.

Even a totally different fantasy MMO would be sweet.

Some people argue we have too many fantasy MMO"s.  I say we don't have enough good ones.  Just because there are 90+ trash Korean fantasy MMO's out there does not mean fantasy is overdone; it's just not done very well, except in a few cases.
