I'd like to see AmazingAvery or any of the die-hard, card carrying fanbois of AoC come to us with their top 10 lists of things Funcom borked and would like to see fixed in AoC. You see us so called trolls always posting the good and bad we like about the game. How is it that a fanbois can't do the same?
Let's have it fanbois, and you know who you are, please... tell us what you don't like about AoC (since the PvP beta weekend) and what you'd like to see changed.
The top ten things I'd like to see changed are...
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

I'd like to see a non linear game.
Account has been stolen, why would someone want to steal my account?
But ok Shannia, here is my all time favorite:
Random crits causing fatalities ruin the PvP experience. Remove fatalities from PvP !
The can only post things from the PvP weekend and since that was very limited they are not allowed to say a lot about the game in general.
I'm not in the beta so i can only start guessing what people want to fix or make better. My wild guesses are these.
1. Serverlag/performance/crashes would be a top priority.
2. Unbalanced classes and bugs is on the top too.
3. Craftingsystem perhaps.
4. PvP rewards and rewards in general for having a keep.
5. Balanced lootsystem.
6. A better way to find groups in both PvP/PvP
To bad noone can answer those wild guesses because it's still under NDA.Guess we just have to wait and see what Funcom release.
But the trolls have to come back and eat their words if it turns out the game is ready for release.
Just like they had when Lord of the rings online released.

Trolls won't come back and eat their words if the game turns out to be decent at release....they will just head off to the next game closest in development n find faults with it.
If u call urself a troll fair enough, but trolls only post bad things and spread doom without knowing anything about the game most of the time and are fanbois of a competitor to AoC (just like some AoC fans bash other games on other forums).
Back on topic: PvP weekend was IMO positive 'cause it put to rest my worst fears: gameplay and fun combat system. I'll try to come up with some stuff that I would have liked in AoC:
-I would have liked the combos being able to be triggered without actually clicking on the combo icon.
- No zones (Seamless world)
- Factions
- More races
- Amazing Crafting system
I can't find 10things tbh lol, though I'll be adding some if I do.
These are random stuff I guess, though zones are necessary if they want to have good graphics and performance.
Cheers!
Well, I wasn't in the pvp weekend, but .... the only thing I think Funcom borked was setting a May 20 release date.
I think someone misjudged badly there. For two reasons. One, being Warhammer, and not anticipating their 6-month delay (which was inevitable). Second, it was probably a push to get it out the door for the summer months... aka kids out of school with waaaay too much free time.
If the game needed "polish", two months was cutting it too tight. Instead of pushing it back from March to May, they should have pushed from March to August or September.
If you only leave yourself two months, that's hardly enough time to write code/systems, implement, test for feedback, make changes, test for feedback.... etc. If you got two months, you're going to be throwing in stuff Cold Turkey (sorta). Virtually untested (internal doesn't really count). That is a huge gamble.
So, yeah. It doesn't matter how much of a fan of a game you are, there's always something you can complain about it. The difference is, I see a hell of a lot of good in this game. From what I've seen and read, it will be a blast to play.
you yourself may post the good and the bad, but most trolls or whatever you want to call them will only state the bad while not knowing what they are talking about, or basing it off other uninformed people's opinion. In the end though everyone will have their own opinion whether its valid or not we will see come release day and after.
I'll come back at release and post lol. For now I would of thought the balancing would of been a bit better in the PvP weekend.
Im never going to understand you, one day your for AoC the next your against it, pick a freaking side man!
Do you just smoke a crap load of weed every once in a while or something, because looking over your post history again you are back and forth more than ... well idk what.

lol Shannia...
...sure in AoC i like to see some things fixed like the loading screen after death, terrian exploits, some skills bugged, small graphical issues etc...
but the game itself WORKS its FUN its PLAYABLE its ADDICTING and if what i saw this weekend was AoC at it worse...then by god we are in for one hell of a game
I playd the beta pvp weekend.. and I playd a lot of mmos in my life
and I can tell age of conan is the best mmo ive playd in years
Im never going to understand you, one day your for AoC the next your against it, pick a freaking side man!

I sit on the fence my friend. I post positives and negatives about the game. I'm really hoping AoC is a smash hit. I have a few reservations and I like to find out if people have the same reservations I do. Take for example, in the past six months alone, Funcom has removed several classes, removed prestige classes, and a lot of other stuff that I don't know if I like or not. Also, we still don't have the skinny on crafting. Crafting is the deep, dark secret of AoC. We don't even know if it is really in or not because they have not shown it to us.
Here is the part that scares me the most. Any MMOG I play today or plan to play in the future must have crafting, FOR ME! If the game doesn't have a good crafting system, I won't play the game. The scary part about AoC is that you either have to buy the game to get to 40 or pray that the buddy key that you get from your friend allows you to play past level 13 or someone like me is screwed. I don't like being kept in the dark 1/2 way to max level to find out if what I like about MMOGs is enjoyable to me or not.
Why is crafting introduced at 40? Why not before? Why are they still hiding so much of this game from the public?
Make no mistake, I've been following Howard's Conan since I was a young teen. I love Hyboria. I want to love this game but so much of it is kept from us, that it scares me.

sure i know the game has trimmed some things ...but over the course of 5 years im sure for every idea they have had to scrape was replaced with a idea they didnt plan on adding....
NDA is coming down soon so who cares about the 1-13 testers....you will hear feedback from testers who have seen every nook and cranny from 1-80
this is the BIGGEST mmo release since EQ2/WoW....the general feeling of the game is postive from tons of different people who have played the game, lots of signs show this game could be a big sucess, ....its time for a leap of faith Shannia....
and if we all fall on our face, well....that sucks for all of us because we wont see a major title for quite awhile after this
I think that pretty much sums up my opinion as well.
After release, I'm sure I'll think of a few things I wish had been different.

Quality over quantity.
I agree with you on the crafting. However, let me point out a couple of things, including one theory of mine.
Crafting is in....there's a rather long explaination of how it all works, and why it was designed the way it was.
I am personally looking forward to a "grind free" crafting system, where I don't have to make a billion little worthless things to be able to make something that I can actually use.
And...my theory on why crafting opens up at 40 is rather simple.
A: this keeps people like me from making a swarm of low level crafting mules.
B: advancing through crafting tiers is quest-based. Likely, the quests require that you be able to travel to certain areas that may not be all that accessable to lower level characters. We wouldn't want ALL the crafting quests to be in the noob zones.
Overall, I think that in order to balance out the hype a bit, there really needs to be a veil of secrecy. This way, we can be pleasantly surprised by things we discover as we explore this new virtual world.

Yes it does.

Amazing what the internet search options can do for you.

vanguard 2.0 i mean age of conan needs the following.
player killing outside of town - this would make the player feel like he or she is in great danger anytime he or she leaves town. ultima online had this and tons of uo players want it back.
alpha classes - they should go in look at how big jedi was in swg before $OE stole the pre-cu away from the player base. warcraft is putting it in with death knight this would be a big selling point and would get tons of people to play.
less pve more pvp - people want pvp and that should be the over all goal of the game.
drop the xbox port - does anyone really want the 13 year old racist xbot 360 players on conan? i don't and i know tons of people who don't. then again the xbox is a system that should be gone by the end of the year good riddens.
more sandbox - again more people want sandbox over level based.
crafting - crafting should be where all the good items come from not pve.
redo the game - yes i believe after doing the pvp beta that conan needs another 6 to 12 months in the oven. the level based stuff just doesn't work. and the game just crashes all the time. hold off on it and redo the game that will save conan from becoming vanguard 2.0
Well, after playing the PvP weekend (which I'm finding is not the same experience as the actual betas) I have confirmed my worst fears about the game and am glad that they are not issues. The game itself works, it is fun, and runs on a very involving system of gameplay. I was really on the ball on whether they would be doing well with this but it appears they nailed the actual game down.
Basically, the way I look at it, there are two concepts of an online game: the game itself, and "the little things". The game itself, the way I look at things, is difficult to change around. SWG's, for example. The game FAILED. It was a really fun game at first, and they nailed "the little things". But they slowly evolved the game itself into a horrid monster of technology, and at that point the little things don't even matter... I'm surprised it still survives today.
Why WoW worked: the game itself really wasn't too great to me when it was first introduced, and the little things were almost non-existant. It survived because it had a huge, die-hard fanbase and enough of the game itself was decent, and it was a good time for release. Because of their massive fanbase and lack of competition it gave them time to build upon "the little things". They never really needed to change the game itself, and it eventually grew into a massive blobness of a game that it is today. The changes then and now are highly significant. I don't like the game, but I greatly admire Blizzard from their accomplishments with WoW. If and when WoW inevitably fails (I give it a year or two, depending on if WAR grabs away enough of the fantasy lovers) and the people at Blizzard release a new, non-fantasy MMORPG, I will most likely switch to that... even if non-fantasy isn't really Blizzard's run of the mill, it is at least worth a shot.
So far, the game itself for AoC is, in my opinion, really going to be awesome, which is surprising from FC. I feel that they nailed it. It will be one of those games that I can see slowly growing into a greatly popular game over time. I don't ever imagine an MMORPG will ever recieve as much publicity WoW has recieved ever again for a good amount of years to come (it was a serious fluke to say the least, had a huge edge with it's fanbase, and sort of had the "bandwagon" effect which I don't think I need to explain), but it will eventually grow into the millions if the people working at FC continue to consistently be updating their games. All they need to worry about are "the little things", which to finally answer the OP's question, are these... at least the main issues...
1. Biggest issue right now for me are the memory leaks. That's a touchy subject for an online game, hope they get they realize the seriousness of these issues and get it fixed before release.
2. Class balance... it wasn't just the rangers who had problems. The ToS was extremely overpowered as well, while the Necro and Demonologist were greatly underhanded and not worth playing compared to it. Mitria's healing spells were way too strong. Even if they basically have absolutely no attacks it was the deciding factor in PvP on which team would win. Guardians dealed absolutely no significant damage whatsoever compared to Guardians or Dark Templars, and only a tiny benefit health and defense wise. I think the assassin and barbarian are good as they are though... at least they have two classes done
3. It seems like I'm the only one who doesn't find the monster's AI unappealing. Designed somewhat clumsily... I think they're spending too much time focusing on the characters themselves over the mobs. Though if I was given the choice for detail over one or the other I'd say the character itself, but that really isn't an excuse to forget about the mobs. Let's say your a ranger or mage of some sort. Shoot spell / arrow. The monster you hit clumsily wallops over at an unusually wierd running speed which really doesn't fit the animation. It's like extremely fast strides, I'm sure people would agree with my statement who've played the beta. Then the other two notice you when you basically almost have their first buddy dead. It's kind of comical watching them move in hordes the way they do but I'd prefer differently... this will probably not be adressed by release but I hope they fix it eventually, there's only so much I could honestly stand.
I have many more issues with "the little things" but I feel as if they are things that can easily be fixed and / or have already been notified. Lag / performance is an easy enough issue to solve, along with the lame voice actors and odd character movements (excluding actual combat, which I must say is sick beyond belief!!). There's my 2 cents... now that I think about it I wrote a whole lot of shit for just one stupid thread lmao... I think this is at least worth a dollar (if you count the ramblings, at least).
If only SW:TOR could be this epic...

Amazing what the internet search options can do for you.
I stand corrected about the beer! Touché!
I'm not creative enough to have a signature
roll on a pvp server you can kill anywhere outside town
alpha/hero classes: umm for what? this doesnt bring anything to the game at all maybe in a year or 2 they can re-visit it, but the game has tons of class choices already
this is subjective ...more pvp and less pve...why not cater to both? just becasue YOU only like pvp doesnt mean others do....myself sometimes i like to get away and kill a few bosses in dungeons with my friends to relax...a GOOD game should do both
lol you know why most people hate xbox gamers? because a majority of them have headsets because they dont have a keyboard...force PC players to headsets only and i bet MONEY you will hear the same stuff,
again you want a skill based system...i want a level based system...there are pros and cons for both, there is no clear cut winner
the devs have said the best items are crafted....
so looking at your reasons to add 12 more months to AoC? i see NIL
As for your ideas.
There are FFA PVP servers, so you can kill anywhere except hubs (Towns)
Alpha classes are an ok idea but there is no need for them at launch, since no one will be high enough to make one.
More PVP- well, there is full pvp servers so how much more do you want????
XBOX will make them money, that is all that matters.
Sandbox/skill based- yes, more people want skill based games then level based games, which is why you see so many more skill based games being made then level based games, because the player base has spoken.
Crafting is supposed to have the best items so you get this one too.
Probably not going to happen because they are already making the disks. Nor does it need to happen.
Nice to see that you leave the SWG Vets boards now and then.
not to mention that they still don't even know how they will accomplish a 360 version. First off, the memory footprint is FAR too large for the poor little console.
I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it.
I could the list you ask for OP, if I didn't care about NDA. Thing is, the list would be based on problems with an unfinished product. Besides, what I think is a minor inconvenience, others may think it's a major flaw.
Take this guy posting above. We know the game is level based and he's still whining about skill based system. For me it makes zero difference which system the game uses, as long as it works for the particular game. But others may not share my own point of view.
This list you're asking is not easy to make for anyone beyond our own selves.
