Big news on the official forums...read the official statement from Bossman HERE.
As indicated in previous posts, we are working on delivering the gameplay changes you have been requesting. We are making Fury a competitive, level playing field and this will require a number of significant changes.
One of the key things that needs to happen in order for Fury to succeed, is we need to regain the trust of the community. Talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words, so to earn your trust we need to deliver results. However we need to begin by discussing our options to make sure we agree on the path forward (no more AotC surprises - Cam and I are still here, and we admit we made mistakes but we are ready to move on).
We’re going to start off by introducing our plans for the new level playing field designed for (and by) competitive players. This starts with two major areas for discussion:
1. Ability overhaul – simplify the set of abilities and ensure players have meaningful choices
2. Armor & Equipment overhaul – provide armor that works in conjunction with the abilities (and without procs)
Cam will be introducing our plans in more detail in the Suggestions forum and we look forward to reading your feedback and working with you to get the mix of abilities and armor right. You will also have the opportunity to help us design new starter Archetype/Incarnations which we know have bugged many of you since beta.
Once we have these details addressed we will move on to discussions about new/existing game types, crafting, business model, time frames and so on.
We can dwell on the past or look forward to the future. We have [hopefully] learned from our past mistakes and encourage you to participate in this process to help us ensure the future of Fury is a long and prosperous one.
As a sign that we are serious about getting things right and acting on your feedback, we will be making two changes to 4 v 4 Elimination for this weekend.
(i) We will turn bots off, so all 4v4 games will be human only
(ii) we will release a small patch which will turn off armor procs for 4v4 only. Please give us your general feedback here and more specific comments in the detail threads on the Suggestions forum.
Cheers
Bossman

lol no one comes here anymore, after your game revamp you need to work on a few balance and builds of the week/month builds...also think about a re-release from scratch maybe with a new name.. to get fresh players... because last time I looked your game is DEAD
good idea but no population.
Thanks for the bump. Can't really tell if you're just trying to flame or offering suggestions but anyway.
Regardless of how popular this forum is, I'm posting updates on the game.
If you're judging the games popularity by action on this forum, you're looking in the wrong place.
Go check out the official Fury forums for that and offer your suggestions or criticisms there as thats where you'll find the players.

Fury Links & Guides|Don't believe the hype
no prob bump =p
but suggestions there, would be good revive. from feedback i have read the game is where it should have been at day 1. so improvements but a little late. how is population in game? I would play it again but last time i tried was nearly nobody in game, I need players in my game, it is decent game love the random stats and such..but without players ...well you gotta egt some players in game somehow. do a promotion maybe like 2moons and metin is doing on front page here? give away a few of those Hero accounts lets say 30, as 2nd,3rd prizes. first prize maybe 10 ipod (basics) 8gb. and grand prize 2 ipod 16gb touches. get fury on frontpage, get people back into the game. it is good promotion. just my idea, and 4th and 5th prize..maybe that 10% runspeed item from preorder, or some other unique game item. get the fury name back out.
As I said to someone else who asked, the game is going through big changes right now.
My posting updates here is mainly to inform of them rather than try to attract attention to the game.
It will do that itself once these changes are implemented.
The last thing it needs right now is lots of attention mid-revision where a whole new bunch of players turn up and start moaning because stuff is still being re-worked / balanced.
On the other hand, if you used to play but were put off for one reason or another now is the time to goto the main forums and speak your mind directly to the devs. They are listening and big changes are happening.
Fury Links & Guides|Don't believe the hype
assasin the only problem I had was no players, get players in game and the game be fine.. no players= why bother. You gotta attract players.
and saying or thinking that they will come to your game on your own , you are mistaken.
AoC, TcoS, WAR all coming out soon..you want to be in that competition... you need to try and act fast while there is a huge lull in the mmo market and a lot of players are playing nothing at all or miserable in the games they in. having players in game makes all the difference in the world..
let the noobies cry.. atleast they will stick around and play if other players are there. and if they crying on forum atleast you are getting feedback.
sorry I won't come back til I find word of the game having a population.
the game cant get a population if people not willing to come back and play some cause of the low pop
well they need to runs some contests and promotion sget a huge influx of players, I suggested it and he shot down the idea.. too bad. I for one never come back to a dead game
I'm a newbie here and come to find more information about Fury. my classmates all have interesting in fury.
Hardly a dead game, I've got no problems queuing up to Vortex and 4v4 games. Plently of people to battle it out with. True, the current playerbase is not huge, Fury is not an mmo. Thats not necesarily bad since its a tight knit community at the moment
Its going to change very soon with the overhaul.
EDIT: I'm done with this game, seriously. I've spent my fair share on this game and now there making me pay PER GAME to play. I get 100 free plays a MONTH i could go through that in less then a week...
this is bullsh*t.

They HAVE made changes to the game, they changed everything from what I can tell.
Basically from what I've been reading on the official boards, and correct me if I'm wrong, the changes are something like this?:
*This is a competitive arena game, with the ability to win actual money.
*Every skill is available, every armor and weapon is available, and there are good premade skill combinations available if you just want to jump in.
*This means no matter how much time someone else has spent in the game, they do not have an advantage over you, other than their skill with the game.
*You can make your armor/weapons appearance look cooler by spending gold, but the stats remain the same.
*You can practice for free.
*You can pay to compete; there's a cover to get in, and that goes towards the prize money the winner takes home. I think? This accurate?
*You pay with game currency, and the prize is paid in game currency ("GOLD"). Since you buy "Gold" with actual money, (10 american dollars=140 gold), the game currency is actually worth something. I suppose if you win alot of it, you can trade it in towards real world prizes or real world money? I'm certain you need it to pay your way into matches.
*They plan on compensating the people who have already payed for the (Now, defunct, old sysytem's) premium plan.
It sounds like a really cool buisiness model to me; I like the idea of competing, and I like the idea of my effort in game translating to real world money and or merchandise. In theory. The truth of the matter is the game is in trouble, and if people don't start signing on, it may never get off the ground.
I may look back into fury, but my only real complaint about the game is this: I hate the auto-follow and auto-attack that guy when my guy catches up controls. As well as the point to click controls. Auto-run is fine, I use it exclusively in wow pvp. But if my character already knows what to do when he catches a target, it leaves the whole game world feeling artificial and small. If I auto run, in wow for example, I still have to actively pay attention to everything my character still needs to do; it's a temporary aid while I execute commands at the right time, the right facing, the right distance, the right opponent; not a fire and forget button. This' also why I hate guild wars' combat: it feels stale, artificial, and tiny.
If you want to repost any of this in the Fury forums go ahead, I don't have an account over there.
Seems like a decent game, I'd give it a chance if you like Guild Wars brawl pits, etc. Guild Wars doesn't pay you to win though.
Mostly on track but you got the click bits wrong. Its nowhere near anything like click and forget or click to follow. There isn't such a function. Yes you can autorun but you'd still have to control which direction so auto run just stops you from pressing W. Personally I don't use this feature.
As for ability triggering, they have changed it so you can hold an abilities trigger down and it keeps retriggering for as long as it is able. This I guess to some degree combats the keyboard smashing new players usually end up doing because they don't understand the flow yet. But there is no click and forget function.
GW afaik has an 8 skill slot bar.
Fury has 24. That allows for quite a few abilities and combos.
But they have different approaches to PVP and their ability layouts are different.
All I would say to anyone considering Fury at this point in time is expect a few bugs (not a lot), expect to get killed a lot when you first start (if you jump straight in to the vet PVP matches), expect to have to practice & refine your build before you get good at this game AND expect to get everything wiped in June for the official start of the tournament.

Fury League – Where Gamers turn their Skill into Cash.
Taken from here.
Fury League – Where Gamers turn their Skill into Cash.
2,000 individual cash prizes to be won this month.
Brisbane, Australia, May 8 2008.
Auran Games, creators of Fury, the fast-paced arena combat game, today announced the launch of a new skill-based online competitive format called Fury League. Players can not only test their skills against other players but also win Fury Gold which can be converted into real cash.
To introduce players to the new “turn skill into cash” concept, the Fury League Qualifying Season will run throughout the month of May. This is a totally free to play Qualifying Season aimed at building a large social and competitive online community based around fast paced arena combat.
To get the competitive juices flowing, and to ensure plenty of hard fought competition, the Qualifying Season will culminate in two special “Cash Ladders”. The top 1,000 players on each Ladder will win cash prizes with a total of $25,000 to be won. The first Cash Ladder will kick off May 20 with players competing in 8 v 8 team Vortex. The second will begin on May 27 with players competing in the 4 v 4 Elimination game type.
In addition to the Cash Ladders, for every game played during the Qualifying Season players earn one Free game entry in Fury League which will kick off in June. Players can earn up to a maximum of 1,000 free game entries, so players of every skill level will be rewarded for participating in Qualifying Season matches.
“We have listened to our core community and there are two things they really want – a game where skill is rewarded not time played and the chance to win cool prizes,” said Tony Hilliam, Auran CEO. “We are very excited to deliver the ultimate skill-based competitive online game that will satisfy both these wishes – tangible cash prizes and a game where skill is your only advantage.”
“We have been working very hard behind the scenes and in consultation with our players identifying what worked well in Fury and what didn’t,” Hilliam continued. “We have created a safer environment for new players to learn the fast-paced action, and we have totally removed any “grind” for gear or abilities. This is the perfect opportunity for players to step up and test their skill for free and earn cash for playing games.”
“Our statistics show that once people win three to five games, chances are they are hooked,” said Cameron McNeil, Fury Lead Designer. “So ensuring a fair fight is the key to growing our player population. By putting up $25,000 in cash prizes for the Qualifying Season, we are confident we’ll see a huge increase in player numbers. This will lead to closer matches and ultimately more fun for everyone. Rising up the Ladders to win bigger cash prizes is also a great incentive for players to push through the learning curve and discover the depth Fury combat has to offer.”
“To ensure a level playing field, we have given all 400+ abilities to almost 200,000 existing player accounts and every new player receives these abilities for free as well,” said Cameron. “In addition, everyone who logs on this month receives 10,000 Fury Gold to spend on new armor for use in the Qualifying Season, prior to an inventory reset in June. There are also new starter and advanced Archetypes designed by top players in the Fury community, and of course a host of other game and performance improvements. We are really looking forward to building the Fury League community to the point of offering hundreds of thousands of Fury Gold prizes every month.”
Fury League is the result of three years of previous Fury development and experience plus six further months of re-engineering, re-design and improvements. No other game has ever created a level playing field where players can turn their gaming skills into cash every month. Every player has access to the same items and abilities from the start and so the winners will be those players that develop the best combination of character customization, map knowledge, combat awareness, individual skill and teamwork.
Fury League will operate much more like an online sport than a traditional computer game. Rather than character progression or an unfolding story, players work on improving their performance as an individual and as a team member. Players can simply have fun with friends and see who has the best score on a given day, or they can get more serious and compete for prize money.
Fury League will continue to evolve and expand over the coming months with the ability to challenge other players for Gold and to spectate on other matches. Existing Fury players will also be compensated for prior purchases as part of the transition to Fury League.
More information about Fury League can be found at www.FuryLeague.com
About Fury League:
Fury League is a free to play (F2P) fast-paced arena combat game where players can turn their skill into cash. All players have equal access the same equipment and abilities from the start and so individual skill is the difference between winning and losing. Players compete in 6 different game types and can win Fury Gold prizes. Importantly, Fury Gold can also be converted into cash, with a small processing fee applying to each withdrawal. Withdrawals are limited to one per account per month.
Two game types are free to play forever, and the other 4 game types (Premium Games) will require a Fury Gold entry fee (from a few cents per game). Every player also starts each month with 10 free Premium Game entries. Fury Gold can be purchased from the online Fury store using credit card or Paypal with additional payment methods to come. Players can also choose a $10 monthly subscription and receive unlimited free Premium Games plus special sanctuary (non-combat) items and emotes.
Players can also use Fury Gold to enter additional “Gold Ladders” for a chance to win major Fury Gold prizes. The Gold Ladder prizes will be awarded to the top 50% of entries so even if you aren’t competing for 1st place, you will win Fury Gold by finishing ahead of half the field.
In the next major update, players will have the ability to enter Fury Gold Challenge matches where players wager Fury Gold, with a winner take all prize pool. Future updates will offer spectating options plus a Live Tournament mode where players vie for supremacy in a live knock-out competition.
Existing Fury players can log on and patch directly to the latest Fury League build and all players who purchased Fury or items from the Fury store will be compensated for their prior support. Players who purchase Fury from a retail store or online will receive Fury Gold and a month free subscription.
Earn Free Games during Qualifying Season
The game types that earn free Premium Games are:
Vortex – two 8 man teams compete to return 4 crystals to their base before their opponents. Stealing crystals and mounting a good defence to protect your own crystals is the difference between winning and losing. Controlling both the Team Offense and Defense nodes can also make this task much easier.
Elimination 4 v 4 – a team-based best of 5 round elimination match on mid-sized
arenas. Knowledge of power-up placement and map layout, combined with teamwork are the keys to success.
Elimination 1 v 1 – played on smaller arenas, 1 v 1 is best of 3 round elimination match requiring a mix of DPS and survivability. Winning is often about having the right abilities on your quickbar to counter your opponent in any situation.
Bloodbath – a free for all slug fest where players must decide whether to fight or flee. Collect points by killing other players and target the Top 5 Leaders to earn maximum points.
Carnage – two teams compete for a high score by killing computer opponents and picking up the Blood Tokens they leave behind. Take 10 tokens back to your base and the winners are the team with the highest tally after 8 minutes. The other team can be slowed down by taking down their players before they return the tokens to their base.
In addition, Bloodbath Training Grounds is the ideal place for new players to test their skills against some fairly friendly computer opponents in a free for all Bloodbath contest. Until you can consistently win at Training Grounds, we suggest you stay away from the more competitive game types.
