beta question:maybe dumb

in Age of Conan: Unchained

so I got my key, dl'd the game and opened it up.  I assume that everyone gets the "failed to dl patch" thing.  the website says registration begins on the 2nd also.

so I assume at this point that if everyone gets the no dl error, and you cant register yet, then I can set my phone for the 1st to remind me and move on with my life.

did everyone get the same results i did?

    OP, you are correct. No one can patch or play 'till May 1st.

    If the beta is slated for May 1st, what day do you think they would possibly open up the client to connect?  Need I say more?

    my question was not "what day does this happen," this is apparent to anyone who visited the website.  My question was in regards to the specific error, as well as the inability to register in advance. 

    It would have been more logical to me if the program said something like "unable to connect, open beta begins later"  but when it gave me an error message I naturally questioned whether this was normal or if I should reDL the program.

    I did the same as the OP.

    i would like to register a name or use my cd key i received from fileplanet. open beta begins may 1st but registration is on the 2nd? 

    basically i want to be all set to go, when they let me. why does registration say the 2nd but 1st is the start of open beta?

    can i register with funcom, this cd key fileplanet game me? are there any more steps i can take ?
