The topic says it all, what about EQ2 has you most excited, what are you looking forward to most in the game?

For me it'd have to be the Crafting/Tradeskills hands down.

The fact that it goes away from mega raiding back toward grouping and small raids.

And the crafting looks very interesting. I just hope it is as fun and challenging as the cloning line of BE crafting in SWG.

Well theres more then one. The approach there takeing with the A.I is astonishing. The diversity of the differnt combinations of classes. The ability to solo if your haveing trouble finding groups. The wacky race/class combinations you can have :) lol. The detail theyve taken in with guilds , and the guild houseing/player houseing.

Thats all i can think of off the top of my head but if i took the time i could add much more to that list lol :)

Well I like this game because it's going to have so many things to do.  It will never end, you could play forever and then they would add even more.  I like the graphics too, but i wouldn't choose a game just because of graphics.  The game has to be exciting too.  I would have to play on the server that has PvP because PvP to me is important.  This game is going to be great i just need a dvd drive lol.

Well the thing that excited me about EQ2 was the movie it had with the dragon... but after that I went to the forums and eq2.com for more game info and Im not really excited about anything in EQ2 atm. No PvP kinda ruins it for me. The enviornment looks blah and boring... where are the rolling hills like in mourning and WoW? All I see is flat to semiflat land with wide open spaces with nothing in it! I thought this game was gonna be cool but its just gonna be another boring grind fest IMO.... well not boring might be fun if they do it right. The voiceovers are a nice idea but its gonna suck when they patch in new NPCs cuz theyll have to do voiceovers for EVERY npc they patch in.... or they just might omit new npcs and save them for expansions then youll have less new quests unless you buy the expansion.

Only thing that excites me about EQ2 right now is how the armor/weapons look. VERY VERY well done.

Well, there is quite a bit that I am looking forward to! But I will limit it to only a few, and as well will list them.

Crafting/Tradeskills. As it has been mentioned before it is for a good reason, for it seems to be a little bit more intrigueing and will help to break up the time a little more.

2 Starting Cities. Though many may not like this idea I think it is brilliant in so many ways, but I won't bother you with all of them. I think it will create a much closer community and make the world seem a little bit more filled.

Race/Class Combination Freedom. The ability to make any combo you want is great. Nuff said.

Voice Overs. Will give the game a more immersive feel.

Lore. Mabye because it is just coming out and there is alot to be discovered I am still intrigued by alot of the little bits of info released.

Smaller Raid Sizes. Good and bad, but I like it. Though I still like going on a mass raid I like haveing a more tight nit group, allows for actual strategy to be created more on your toes and more combinations.

My partner and I mostly look forward to having a new world to explore - discovering new places is alot of fun, and we're growing a bit bored of our current mmorpg.

Feature-wise, I'm excited about the "Heroic Opportunity" wheel - it sounds like a very interesting concept!  In games, I've always been the one glued to the keyboard - no ninja afk's.  So far I love the customization available; also like that they're keeping the cities at 2 only, which will hopefully keep the cities well populated and interesting places to be, and keep the community strong.

    Looking forward to it.  image

The Lore, I am always a huge fan of stories and novels about fictional places like this world and Azeroth(WoW). Also, the looks of the game. They are new and cutting edge. Even if my computer doesn't have a shadow of a chance to run the game :(.

You must not have read my Report over the past 5 days, EQ2 has been run on some very low end systems.

Parts 3-5 have links on the main page still, and there's a big old graphic link that says "Everquest 2:  Fan Site VIP Event 2004".

Very hard to miss if you go through the main page on your way to the forums.  It's great stuff - best article to come out of the fansite meet (checked the other ones EQ2's official site listed).  Part one can be found at http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/setview/features/loadFeature/5/gameID/2/.  Very good read.

I usually don't look at the news articles. I read a few of them. I thought those things about the fansites was a contest or something. My mistake.

What makes me anxious to play this game is the raiding I so miss from EQ1... Gathering 50+ people to kill some monster that you have very little chance of killing but if for some reason you do succeed you have a chance of winning " Ubah L33t"...small chance maybe but still a chance....

Not only that but even when you do not win anything, you seem to enjoy yourself in the process anyhow. There are many things that I am looking foward to in EQ2 and that is just one of them....

I love the fact that I'll be at the forefront of this game, something I didn't get to do with the first EQ. Everything about this game looks great. They have put alot of thought into it and I'm sure beta will let them know what doesn't work. I haven't hear alot of ripes from the beta testers.

The immersion, the world, and adventuring. Ok their not really "Features", but that's what i'm looking forward to in this game.

The new social game line really exites me.

The fact that one can really build up town faction and gain benefits that way is simply awsome.
Will definately spend alot of time on carpentry, who knows i might end up making a toturechamber for the lich lord...

I'm looking forward to content.  In SB you could more or less max out your level in three days.  In EQ2 It should hopefully take months before you get anywhere near the cap.  There will be endless quests and mobs to kill, and the GMs take a somewhat active role in creating things for the players to do.  Also I've found a much older and more mature playerbase in games like EQ and EQ2 than other simpler games.  I'm hoping for PvP some time in the future but I suppose we'll see.  In any case this game has so much going for it that I'd be happy even without PvP.

I'm looking forward to a number of things. Mainly it looks like EQ 2 is gonna be what EQ shoulda been, or Verant wanted EQ to be. I like that I'll be able to either Group or fly solo. Of course the graphics are off the hook as is the whole NPC's having speech thing.

I'm just looking for this game to be one simple thing, FUN.

I can't wait to get that feeling of being completely lost in a zone. That feeling of being a complete noob in a game is fun as hell...not knowing where you're going or what monsters will be around the next bend. Plus, everyone else will be feeling it too so it's an awesome experience to play a new game with people who have never played it either.

I'm looking forward to the graphics as well. Just bought new machine a few weeks ago and can't wait to turn everything up to get the max experience as the Devs would want us to. Particle effects, details of monsters/NPC's/PC's and the excitement of seeing it all for the first time has me very happy EQ2 will be out soon!

I was looking forward to pvp the most but thats gone now. Right now pretty much i'm excited about the graphics that look very sweet. That and the only other mmorpg that really sucked me in was eq so i'm hoping eq2 will do the same.

  • DevineDevine Member Posts: 58

    1) Graphics capability of the game.

    2) Trade/Artisan skill chain and mechanics.

    3) New Targetting system as described in some Beta Journals.

    4) Re-joining old friends in online gamming once more.
