In this weeks Friday Feature, the folks at Star Wars Galaxies take a look at a new collection in Chapter 9: The Fury of Exar Kun which rewards players with the rattletrap, an instant travel vehicle.
Not all starships gleam like the Naboo Starfighter or pack the punch of a gunship, but these hardy ships get the job done. A new collection in Chapter 9: The Fury of Exar Kun rewards players with the opportunity to possess one of these dogged ships, the rattletrap, which fulfills its duty as an instant travel vehicle.
A Piece of Junk
Collectors have been scouring the galaxy for items of value, no matter how large, small, or even how dirty. The eagle eyes of the treasure hounds recently fell on crates of junk left behind in the starports of planets across the galaxy. Click on the crate to begin piecing together your new vehicle.
When the collection of parts is complete, your ship is ready to be built. You will be rewarded with a No Trade ship deed for your efforts.
The rattletrap is an instant travel vehicle that can get you to your destination in a pinch. The ship may be dirty and rundown, but she'll get you where you need to go.

Question what episode was the rattletrap and Exar Kun in? Guys i think we need to get some coders and start building our own death star.
I hate Instant travel vehicles because they symbolise everything that's ruining the game.
Is this a Chapter 9 limited-time ONLY "gift"? Or will this collection still be available when new chapters are introduced?
Thanks.
I agree
Could you expand on that?
I couldn't have said it better.
That ship looks in about the same condition as the nge :P
The artwork just keeps getting worse for anything new. It is really sad.
Really? The art inside the Exar Kun instance is probably the best in the game so far. Not sure what's wrong with the art on the new ITV...

Wow...this is what passes as a chapter/publish these days? A couple lame collections and a cookie cutter instance?
Please, explain how it's a "cookie cutter" instance?
Thanks.

Never seen it myself so post pictures but SWG instances have never looked good anyways, hardly the quality of games like WOW. They always reuse the same layouts and same textures and character models, it gets very old very fast. Wish the previous game was made on a different engine and not the POS they are using atm which doesn't even have a proper jump feature.
They still got that horrible jump animation where you press space after the NGE and was the worst thing ever lol, I know it was in before the nge but they coulda atleats made the effort.

The instances have been new art from what I have seen. Tusken King would be a big acception with Tuskens and the city of Mos Espa that is used. New items and textures for Axkva Min, and Exar Kun. IG-88 uses existing droids and textures also.
Lets see, thats 2 retreads and 3 new builds. Thats a try.
So go Leroy Jenkins on those and tell me what you think.
Screenshots from the instance:
Wow Obraik, that is definitely alot different art than was used before. Looks great.
"If we don't attack them, they will attack us first. So we'd better retaliate before they have a chance to strike"
Poor lighting is a great way to hide horrible textures. Looks like Sunken Temple if it had been in the Matrix or something.
I've been playing SWG for a bit over 3 years now.
I'm not about to go buy an expansion that gives me an ITV and I don't yet have the ITV as a vet reward, so I really like the Rattletrap.
As for it's looks and the tiny story they give for it, I think it's great! Simple enough to get and it does it's job.
FYI, I am not a complacent vet. I was as angry as most about the NGE....in fact, I left the game for over a year. I've decided to come back and play and I understand and appreciate the idea and usage of ITVs.
I've spent more than enough time running around and using shuttles....Thanks for the free ITV!
