Star Wars Galaxies: Friday Feature: Office Tour

SzarkSzark News ManagerMember Posts: 4,420

In their most recent Friday Feature on the Star Wars Galaxies official site, the folks at SOE provide a tour of their offices.

In his first Technical Report, Teesquared shared a look at the offices and desks of the programming team. Have you ever wondered what the other offices of the Star Wars Galaxies team look like? Get ready for your own personal tour!

The Star Wars Galaxies team is located in the SOE Austin studio. The offices are well-stocked with Star Wars toys and goodies, caffeine, and SWG team members.

Meet the Producers

Our first stop on the tour is the offices of Lorin "DeadMeat" Jameson, Producer, and Ellen "Calcipher" Andersen, Associate Producer.

LOL.  Looks like some of them are trying to hide their faces.  It's embarassing, isn't it?

A lot of things are starting to make sense now about the game...

No, thats where they came from along with most of the ideas for the NGE. The Devs went dumpster diving over at WoW :)

    Lol!

The very first picture is the Naboo Starfighter, and its not even IN Star Wars Galaxies. Haha, the naboo forces fly around a bunch of Boba Fett ships! What a joke!

They all look so bored, and their offices are mind numbingly dull in appearance. Geeze.

The N-1 Naboo Starfighter is in game.  It was introduced as a craftable schmatic by Shipwrights in the Space Update Chapter with the three new Gunboats.  The game does go on and there are new and old things being put in.  This group of devs have done more work in the past year than has been done in the 4 year previous.  SWG for all its current flaws, is way different game from what it was when the NGE was new.

You know what I found amazingly, stunningly funny? The only content they were working on were more BORING collections.. YAWN.

Glad I threw this pos in the trash once the CU was forced on us. I didn't have to see the travesty of the NGE.

I think I'd have prefered to learn more about the process that goes into making the game rather then just an office tour, something I'm sure I could find a dozen or so of already.

To the haters, I repeat one thing, go out and make a game that appeals to the mass markets before you rag on someone else's efforts.

I care even less about the office and people who manage this once great/now terrible game than I do about this once great/now terrible game.

    Who effing cares.....
