Same question here. I think I'm going back to Bloodhoof (PvE), my original server. I checked on WarcraftRealms.com and it appears to have more characters at every single level (200+) than most other realms.

I think the best thing you can do is just investigate the realms yourself. Just because you select a realm, doesnt mean you are legally bound to play that realm from now on and all other realms become locked.

Log in, take a look at the newbie area, and send a polite message to a lev 70 for their impression. Takes 2 min at most..if you dont like what you see, move on

    Good Luck

I can vouch for Azgalor (Central Time, PvP Server). Playing my alts has always been fun at various levels, with most of the zones appearing to be moderately populated.

It depends on what you prefer, pvp or pve or pvp-rp.  As for the pvp i would say go to Tichondrius they have an amazing battlegroup of which has some of the best players in pvp that i've seen to date.  I myself am more of a pvp person, but i play on shadowmoon.  Shadowmoon is a good server, but it's slowly dying imho.

For PvE i've always been told to go to Korgath, it is home to the guild Death and Taxes, but this server is also PvP, however, may it be part of the pvp server list does not mean it is hardcore for pvp.  With the guild Death and Taxes claiming the server their home, it has brought many many people aspiring to be part of the famous guild or one like it so this server will hold home to many many pve hardcore raiders if that is your sort of thing.

As far as rping goes, i would not know.  My first server ever was Feathermoon which is rp, but i did not like my experience there because i got reported for not rping enough...just not really my thing, although is is rather enjoyable at times.  I think Venture Co. holds some really good rpers, but don't hold me on that.

I would like to announce that i would like to join you on your return to WoW, wherever you go i will level an alt with you.  WoW has started to become boring in way for me so i'm looking for a nice change.  Tell me where you plan to go, what side you choose and what your characters name's are and i'll jump in with you.

I found out the hard way that it is best to pick a realm in your time zome. I helps a lot with lag, not to mention the fact that everything will be in your time zone. Believe me, that makes it much easier. I hated playing the server i was on, just for the fact that I always had to remember what the time zone differential was. Then from there pick your realm by PVP or PVE.

look up the ratios and pick one in your time zone that has a fair ratio of Alliance to Horde.

My advice, if you have friends who play, play with them. Be it online friends rl friends, it is more fun when you have bonds with the people you play with.

If this is not the case, I'm sorry, research servers for a a balanced battlegroup and pick one of the servers that fulfills your server need and is not deserted.

There is not a such thing as a "best" PvP server. Tich is on an Oceanic battlegroup and can easily take advantage of Australian prime time in Arena, in which case exagerrates how good PvPers are on the server. There are good PvPers on all servers and battlegroups.
