Not sure if Sam's rabid creepy devotion to BS can be explained by rules 6 & 8, but most certainly 10 has something to do with it.
Now, I'm not normally partial to flaming (so pardon me if this post comes across as such). I try to give everyone a chance or six to come up with a logical reason behind their beliefs regarding all things SWG (I do still have some respect for Obraik etc, he at least TRYS to sound ledgible). But these posts by Sam123whatever has gone on way too long. This guy does absolutely NOTHING but flame the vets to ruffle feathers and get threads locked, and gets away with it day after day after day. I'm sorry mmorpg.com mods, but his existence here is making your bias far too obvious.

Agree 100%. It's becoming blatantly more obvious with every day where MMORPG's loyalties lie, and where their bias is. There are certain people who are allowed to pollute this board day after day with not a darn thing that rises above a blatant flame or troll, directed AT the veterans who's refuge this is SUPPOSED TO BE, who do it with impunity day after day after day. At the same time, mods nitpick with us, delete and lock our threads which were threadjacked by these trolls, etc.
What I call for is honesty. MMORPG, if you wish to side with the publishers against the players, and show your loyalty by turning a blind eye towards their fanboi trolls, allowing them to break every single rule, fine. I'm OK with that. It's your website, not mine. It's not the way I'd run it, but you are entitled to run this thing the way you see fit until you run out of money.
But don't keep open a "veterans refuge" forum and allow the veterans to be flamed, trolled, use one sided moderation, please. This really, REALLY makes you look bad. At least be honest about it, close down this forum, and add to the description of the general one that "current game talk only allowed".
Consider who we are. We are the people who liked to read, liked complexity, liked being able to play a character we created ourselves rather than a clone from the movies. You can't expect to put one like this by us. We're smarter than that, and you should be better than this. You aren't fooling anyone.
I believe that we are owed an apology.
This forum is obviously for us vets to rant about the NGE... "SWG Veteran Refuge". If thats not obvious enough as to the purpose of this forum, someone needs their heads screwed on right.
Those NGE players should stick to their General Discussions.

It's pretty much a given that all gaming-related media is advertising dependent, and thus there is always a financial reason for game-related media to avoid biting the hands that feed them.
I'm not surprised MMORPG has a bit of a vested interest in not treading too heavily on those who post from an industry friendly perspective, be they just fanboys or actual paid agents.
I can live with that as long as they at least don't come down hard on those who are critical. After all, the posters are providing the content that generates the hits that fuel the advertising bucks that keep the site going.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

The balance on that is that MMORPG only has something to SELL to the advertisers so long as we are here.
We are the product that they sell to advertisers.
So if they completely dump on us and show themselves totally in the pockets of advertisers, they ultimately lose their product.

How is it that SOE is feeding MMORPG with cash? They don't even advertise here.
Not one single banner was seen in this entire site. I doubt MMORPG is taking sides, but standing a neutral ground. MMORPG.com was founded for the purposes of discussing and covering them MMORPG games that come out year to year.
But I do agree that moderation of this forum really be stepped up. Otherwise putting this forum here will just cause more unneeded angst. We vets bash the NGE, compare it to Pre-CU, laugh at SOE's shortcomings all because this IS the Veteran Refuge. They'd call it beating a dead horse, but this horse is still alive and the owner is still sticking funny pink stickers on it.
NGE players (especially those who has never played Pre-CU) want to defend their game? Why the need? Go enjoy your game. Prove to us that we're wrong about the whole population thing, cos till this date I haven't seen a single shot of a crowded cantina or player city theather that isn't a field of AFK dudes.
