Echani

Probably not the best place to come and ask this but....were the old Pikeman, fencer and swordsman professions examples of the Echani fighting style?

TKA was obviously the tera kasi style and jedi were the force wielders.

i am so interested in the melee aspect of SWG, or was.

I so long for the pre CU....I cant believe a company could make such a massive mistake and not correct it....

Right now Jedi is the principle melee class, with Spy, BH, and Bounty Hunter having some specific melee skills in their expertise areas.

During my vet trials Spy using melee coming out of stealth mode was a good way to get a big damage hit on NPCs when initiating combat.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

I won't be surprised if it was... $OE is necroing everything they can from Pre-CU and re-shoving it back into NGE in a zombified form.

Jedi is right now the main Melee Class in the game, Light Side Jedi are for the most part in the Tank role and Dark Side Jedi are in a more DPS role.

Smuggler has a whole Unarmed/Melee Tree as well, this is semi more like TKA as the 12% to do a stun hit kinda takes place of knockdown/dizzy, you get a nice Posion DOT along with a Bleed DOT as well. Also there are some nice updates for Smuggler coming in soon. The Armor line is being reworked so you have 6500k when just in Clothing. Few other new Debuffs and Pistol Whip, note that you don't need a Pistol to use the new Pistol Whip. Still Melee Smuggler is a very over looked Class.

I don't recall seeing any in-game references to Echani with respect to those Pre-NGE professions. Just guessing, but I don't think they were intended to be related at all.

I don't remember them ever being associated with that, but it has been a long time...

Yup forgot about the Smugglers, much as the devs usually do.  I was just so utterly overwhelmed by the Smuggling system a couple of vet trials ago, and how most of the Smuggler expertise trees are of no use at all outside of the PvE smuggling system.
