"After you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), some programs may seem not to work. By default, Windows Firewall is enabled and blocks unsolicited connections to your computer. This article discusses how to make an exception and enable a program to run by adding it to the list of exceptions. This procedure permits the program to work as it did before the service pack was installed."

    Some programs....as of right now there are over 50 programs on the list that have been found to be finicky with SP2, and I'm not so sure there won't be more. Personally, I'm waiting to upgrade until MS gets all the bugs worked out.

    The problem is, those are the ones tested by MS...there are countless others that probably don't work, they just haven't been tested and officially announced by MS. The Business Database software we use at work is affected, but isn't listed, because it hasn't been tested officially yet.

    SO, take this list with a grain of salt...just because a program/game isn't on the list doesn't mean that it will be smooth sailing.

    Wheres problem?Just disable win firewall and thats it no?Anyway who use win firewallls?

    Since i installed sp2 i  can see some changes like shorter boot time or it isnt kinda slow like sp1 was in desktop.And i havent any probs with any software or game i`m using.

    Ive not had any problems with SP2. I did, however, disable winXP's firewall, since i use a hardware firewall anyhow. Everything runs like buttah.

    I have installed sp2 for a little bit now and haven't had any problems so far with the programs on my computer.  What have many of you been experiencing?  Do the programs just crash or what?
