Hey guys,
Alright, well I pre-ordered the collectors edition of WAR a few days ago. This of course allows for open beta and early entry access. So, today about a few minutes ago, GameStop finally e-mailed me back, I was getting excited. I open the e-mail, and here is what it reads:

My mouth dropped open, I was like "wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute! ... What?" I've now replied back to them, asking if this was a mistake. And the funny thing is, is that I supplied them with my Order #, and I even replied with the actual order invoice. How the heck did they mistake Warhammer Online with Age of Conan? Well, I now have an Age of Conan key, unless they somehow make it unusable after this.
It just made me laugh, but I hope I get my WAR keys. Ugh.

HAHA and I got pissed cause I had to hound and hound them for my keys........at least I got the right ones....I feel for ya, believe me I do.
Hmm seems to be marketing genius on the part f AoC. Not only do they get their own fanbois but by sending in corporate Ninjapirates they are substituting preorders of their rivals with their own preorder codes.

Damn that's nice. Now you will, most likely, get a WAR trial key and an AoC one! Must feel nice for you. We all love when someone does a minor "screw-up" resulting in you gaining an additional benefit.
Small update,
GameStop hasn't gotten back to me yet.
And I will admit, today I did try to use the AoC key just for shits n' giggles, and to my surprise, it said: "This key was not found, or is already in use." The AoC key, I'm not sure about it yet... I thought it was deactivated, but I think I entered it in the wrong site...oops (I'm retarded). The registration site seems to be down for maintenance right now though. We'll see.

It is the standard pre order which does not allow beta access. It allows the in game item AND 3 days early access. No open beta mentioned, although you would get to play on the 17th rather than the 20th

Yes, I am fully aware it isn't an AoC Beta key (Look up there a bit, I mentioned that I entered it in the wrong site, I forgot the key wasn't for beta...). However, the Warhammer Online Collectors Edition is for Open Beta, which is what I'm after. But, someone at GameStop had no idea what they were doing, or they did it purposely for some reason I don't know. Really though, I was kidding about using the AoC key indefinitely, I could care less. I just tried it before to see if it was actually valid or not. The thing that gets me, is the fact that the first time I replied, it was with the invoice attached. And I even included the order number, just so they wouldn't mess up. Lo and behold, they did mess it up!
I thought about maybe drawing out a diagram for them in Paint, or even draw them a pretty picture of the correct game, instead of the typed out order number in the email. I'm just really stumped on how they mixed up Age of Conan and Warhammer Online. They even had the order number and invoice, which I think shows them the name of the product on their end. Right? I'd hope so. I'm thinking this is some weird marketing trick as someone mentioned, I actually agree with that. Now, I'm not bitching about this or anything, I am just really stumped on GameStops stupidity. I can be patient.
I'll wait for GameStops reply, and see if they correct it this time. Unless, of course, they send me a Hello Kitty Online beta key or something, then I'll think about it.
So WAR SE pre-order actually gets you into the beta thats going on right now? And it gets you in immediately? Sounds interesting if that's the case...

Well, as Drgnprpht999 said it allows you to enter into Open Beta when it starts, and allows for early access before regular buyers. You can get more info on pre-ordering Warhammer Online CE here: http://www.warhammeronline.com/collectorsedition/
But, there are only 60,000 (probably less now) copies in North America. So, they're limited supply. If you pre-order the CE, you aren't charged until the game ships, and the retailer will send you the beta keys once you request them. However, as you can see here on my current issue, GameStop decided to give me an Age of Conan early entry key instead of the Warhammer Online key. Be carful.
Thats why you order from Amazon and they store your keys for you in Your Media Download's center. Gamestop = clusterf**k

Did Gamestop ever resolve it? They just did the same thing to me. A week ago I pre-ordered the CE and after a few days I sent an email asking if they were going to send me the code and I got a response to wait 48 hours (not including weekends). After a full week went by I sent another email and they sent me an Age of Conan key similar to the email you posted...
I replied that was for the wrong game and haven't heard anything since.
I like the ebgames preorder item better than the amazon one so I hope they get it right soon as I don't want to cancel...
Hahaha... That's awesome. I had actually had to email and complain to get my code for AoC, so there's probably a lot of people doing that and rather than actually look up their order info, their just giving out pre-order codes.
Which actually makes sence: You have to pay $5 for the early access plus 10 days of subscription time, so really if you use the code and they give you early acces, their making money, really no reason to block you.
You might as well try and use it, if trying out AoC is worth $5 to you... which is should be, AoC is a good game.

Things like that are reasons why I just don't order things from them. Not to mention the fact that they put a $9.99 fee on it. Just order from Amazon or something and dont' hassle with EB/Gamestop.
Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

Thats what EXACTLY what happened to me. So I called them and they gave me the right codes plus they said I can use the AoC one also. WOOT for screw ups.
I gave up, I just noticed the in-game item is for PvE anyway. Amazon was quite a bit cheaper and it looks like the code might already be ready. Now the only downside is the ebgames.com website isn't letting me cancel...
Finally got my gamestop order cancelled and true to form Amazon gave me my codes immediately.
So now that it's been 4 days or so, Gamestop finally sends me the keys, WTF!
