SO by now everyone knows that there will be no type of PVP, including dueling and/or Arena fighting of any kind. My question is will any of this be implemented later on in future expansions of is EQ2 going to be a pure PVE? And if that is the case then why aren't they making PVE more immersive by adding PC/MOB collision? As it stands now whatever mob attacks your party could theoritically bypass your tanks by simply walking through them and attack your casters. Also on the flipside what's to stop me from simply running through all mobs to get to my destination?

This is a good question. I am not sure I have read on tanks ability to hold aggro (if that is what you are asking) and also this leads into collision. If tanks can't hold aggro and the mob can just walk through them, I can see a LOT of dead support mages. This may not be so crucial to a necromancer or a nuker, but to the poor cleric its significant.

PvP will be implemented after release. It will either be an expansion or an in-game update.
Collision is really hard to implement in MMOs, and I don't see that happening. If you mean characters no being able to go through each other, then yes, there is colleision. If you mean object collision where an avitar can run into something or hit soething and it move, then no there is none. Most FPSs don't evn have that, and it will be along time before a decent MMO has collision detection (excluding Second Life).
In the future, look to other threads for information before posting on a topic. There are several threads discussing the lack of PvP at release, just as a heads up.

Although the PvP question has gotten kind of annoying lately, the question about collisions is a very good one. Like Zarlan said collision with the enviroment (such as rocks, trees, etc) usually doesn't happen in MMORPGs. Of course it works with bigger things like walls and cliffs, but usually that is a ton of extra work to make sure that you don't walk through every type of object. The one type that I hope that they will have (its a big part of group combat and tactics) is collision between characters and creatures. I hate it in some games where a enemy you are fighting can walk through whoever is tanking to hit on the mages. Knowing how much work they have put into EQII, I doubt that there will be such a problem. Maybve someone who has played the game might be able to tell us what types of collision there are?

I can confirm that there are indeed collissions, both between PC/PC and between PC/NPC. Not being implemented, already in the game.

Does that mean you can move them if you run into them or merely that you cannot pass through them?

Can't pass through them.

excellent, thanks about the update
So how do they plan to prevent ogres, and the like from blocking exits, like they used to do in EQ? Particularly dungeon entrances, so people either couldn't get in, or even worse so the couldn't get out.
