Best PVP in a MMO
it is called Mo Xiang. different version may have differenrt name. aka Dark Story, Feat of Arms, Mo Siang.... Mo Siang is malaysia version but in english.
it is the best pvp in a mmo in my opinion... why? cuz....
when you pk a player... a window of about blank 12 or 16 box pop up letting you choose which box in 3 or 5 tries..... if you choose right..... you get their loots from their inventory.... you can even get their golds! theres a reason why people pvp in this game besides mindless pk!
theres also a duel mode pvp.... once the duel is requested and accepted.... a clear-cage will cover you and your oponent. once the duel is finish.... it will anounce who win and who lose near the chat window for everyone to see and for fame and face.
down side:
Mo Siang is a malaysia version but in english. USA and else where players suffer from connection lagg due to server from malaysia over sea. sound effect delay, movement delay, hp bar damage delay ect.... grind fest, do same old moves/skill millions of time just to level it up.... but the topic is only for its pvp feature.

Wow! You can loot gear SOME of the time, and you get to play a lame click-a-box game? You get carebear duels that ensure no one interferes, and then people nearby get a message that tells them who won (just incase, ya know, they happen to care but weren't watching it...)?
Sign me up!
I'm sorry. I just couldn't resist.
So is there a bank where any smart pvper puts all there money and good gear at?
That must be a very slow-paced game if you're forced to play that mini-game afterwards...
fixed it for you
Best PvP currently stands with Guild Wars, EvE and DAOC. IN my opinion
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
best PVP?
Mankind and EVE where you get to pod players
worst pvp must be EVE so far... best hmm hard to say pretty many to choose from.... no favourite yet.. still working on that part..
erm lol eve is only pvp, its just not instant gratification pvp, what is ur best pvp mmo then (carebear shit where u cant loot ur enemy doesnt count btw)
RPG combat sucks and EVE is one of the worst offenders. Probably the shittiest RPG combat I've ever seen in my life. SWG's Jump to Lightspeed puts it to shame.
At any rate, you're the biggest carebear of all. You're a carebear because you play RPGs for PvP combat when RPG combat is probably the least player skill intensive form of PvP across all genres. If you want real PvP quit half assing it and sub to PlanetSide.
And as far as RPG PvP goes Guild Wars is the best. By a long shot.

imo real pvp is tactical and planned, planetside looks like counterstrike gone mmorpg or am I wrong there? Is pvp in guild wars consentual and full loot, last I heard it wasnt.imo consentual / (controled eg: deuling system) pvp with no full loot is pointless so I guess we have a different definition of "good" pvp.
eh.. I think Dark Age of Camelot has the best pvp of any mmo I have played. But I hope Warhammer Online will put daoc an all others to shame. (Mythic rocks)
Part of being good is being balanced. Guild Wars has diversity and balance, as overpowered builds do not tarry long as overpowered builds. Guild Wars, if you find enough competent people to GvG/HA with, is probably the most fun PvP, imho.
I cannot be called a real PvP player, I have very little PvP experience.
But I would definitely say the strongest concept for a RPG PvP (in contrast to an egoshooter PvP where all that matters is your reflexes) is Guild Wars. There you really have to think a lot what you are going to do, and there you have many alternative ways and choices and many unique abilities to consider.
Mind, this is purely from looking at rulesets alone, not from actually playing any of the real PvP titles myself.

Considering Guild Wars is completely skill-based and items mean nothing, full loot would be utterly useless. What would you loot? PvPers don't usually carry money on them, armor is customized for the wearer and weapons will be too in 90% of the cases. I can't think of anything they would need to carry on them too.
You can create a maximum level PvP character right from the beginning to use. That is what I call PvP - it's competitive. If you feel this extreme need for items, you get them if you win the Hall of Heroes too.
other then the pvp this game sux.
I don't think any of you know what true FFA PvP is. Why because you talk like DAoC, and Guild Wars is hardcore PvP. They are not - in fact some would call them and games like WoW's PvP "carebear" games. Old UO had good PvP and one other game. That game was Asheron's Call. The Darktide server was full on FFA PvP. No safe zones. You could loot players you killed. You could actually hurt a players character so bad by killing them numeroustimes that it would be near impossible to dig themselves out of the vitea whole. Semi-twitch combat. Yes you could dodge arrows and magic spells and such. Asheron's Call PvP combat for an MMORPG was the best in its day and is still one ofthe best combat systems I think ever seen in an MMORPG - until recently.
AC's Darktide server was the purest form of FFA PvP ever seen in an MMIORPG to date in my opinion.
People have different opinions of "hardcore" PvP. I for one don't think that simply being allowed to kill anyone, anywhere, anytime is hardcore...It's inconvenient. Looting the opposing player also seems to be part of the definition, which means that items obviously are of great importance in the game.
I consider hardcore PvP being PvP that requires skill in order to win. Really, running around killing everyone does get tedious after a while. It's quite lame and a way to try and convince yourself that you're better than other people by catching them unexpectedly. PvP that is completely skill based and has objectives is what I call hardcore.
This is what i've been saying for a long time! Thank you! I agree 100%
In AC a level 45 actually had a chance to beat someone many levels higher then them - even if that higher player character had better gear. It all came down to who had learned to play their character better. There were all kinds of builds in AC as well and anyone that played on that server will back me up with what I have said here.
I agreed
I really wish people would stop talking about games that are dead. They don't really count anymore.
ROFL, PlanetSide is as tactical and strategic as combat is in RL (I did six years active duty in the Army's cavalry branch). You have massive armored columns engaging each other, bombers being escorted by fighters laying waste to bases, gunships supporting infantry engagements, air Assault soldiers jumping out of high altitude galaxy transports.
And that's not even getting into the brutal CQB fighting once you penetrate a base's interior.
LOL @ You for think you're not a carebear. Sorry, but RPG combat is really nothing but a stats game. RPG combat is the most removed from player skill form of virtual PvP there is. It's nothing but timing and stats. That's it.
One thing I've noticed is people who like PvP are actually in the game playing. They are playing the game.
People who don't participate at all in PvP in a heavy PvP game are raising hell and complaining hourly in the forums and are rarely in the game. If you don't like a game why force yourself to play it and annoy people on forums?
Its more like When Carebears Attack! than just leave and go play a game you actually enjoy!
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
So are you saying that if you're willing to grind you can go on beating players as long as you want, but if you're not you're pretty much stuffed versus someone who is?
erm lol eve is only pvp, its just not instant gratification pvp, what is ur best pvp mmo then (carebear shit where u cant loot ur enemy doesnt count btw)
lol I mean if EVE was strictly pvp it would be built up the same as Darkspace which is far superiour when it comes to pvp. No without PVE EVE is defently nothing uber rats to hunt and kill and get money... not much money in PVP. So please don't lecture me what EVE is I've been playing it for a while. It looks nice but the PVP part is far from fun. Pity that Darkspace doesn't have a sequel so it could be beefed up a bit but then again as far for the best PVP games are those you can jump right into action and have fun... EVE is not fun it takes too long time to get a PVP battle going unless you go shooting on everyone.
So 1st person games with good pvp side are defently good pvp games, especially shooters they are quick fun.
So in short to your comment it isn't looting which makes a PVP game fun, it's the action and aderaline and things have to move quickly not as in EVE wait wait wait wait wait a battle weeeee... oh it's over it took a few seconds either the bear run away or the battle last for whooping 2mins... wait wait wait..... way too slow.. a good pvp game need to have constant action when you want it and both sides are equally match in numberd at least, so skill based pvp like shooters are much better than using macroes to do everything for you. But EVE looks nice is the only good thing with that game really. Not for the causal pvp'er who don't wanrt to sit by a gate or roam in a fleet for hours without action at all. Hunting rats in the belts are really fun it's like looking paint dry.
So if you look for quick action EVE is not the game for you.
Again for specific ones I like WW2 so BF , Call of Duty is very fun. However they don't have like billions of players but far more action than those with billions of players.
Hoping for a good space shooter like Elite style.. Where you actually get to sit in the spaceship and show your skills.
