Blaming the Debugger ?

Alan0nAlan0n Member Posts: 576

This is what the conan patchter latest version is saying.

We are aware of a memory assert that might cause your client to crash.  We are investigating the issue and need your feedback.  Thank you for helpin us!

Oh really .... Testers have been crashing for months and 2 weeks before release, when open betas start reporting these left right and center it becomes a problem ?

Its not the debugger.  This is serious problem.  Don't pre-order.  Dont buy.  Not until beta testers are reporting a game without crashing regularly.

Lets not forget now - the Closed beta testers are also allowed to report their experience including client performance during 1-13.

this is an issue specific to TODAY'S build. It is unreleated to the debugger performance drop.

This new issue causes a hard-lock of the game, and is very friggin' unpleasant. Hopefully when we get bumped to whatever build we are using tomorrow there won't be this issue.

I remember another "stable" release game that had many crashes and even a memory leak through open beta...

The Developers even asked people not to use their high resolution textures due to a bug in the build..

But, now we know this "stable" game as

    LOTRO

good point, Openedge. And LOTRO had one of the best launches in MMO history.

I was in the lotro closed beta and performance was never as bad as this, not even at the beginning of CB.

There is another beta I was in that I could compare this to..

In that game they blamed the debugger as well.

Then launch came and performance was exactly the same.

I probably don't have to say which game it was.

I would be much more concerned if the content weren't there. The client is very unstable on my computer and I fall through bridges and stairs constantly, but I find it frustrating because I really want to play the game!

Bugs can be fixed, sometimes fairly quickly. A lousy game can't be repaired in a short time, if ever. I am concerned, but not in a panic, about where the open beta is right now. The preorder is still active.

True post. Its the same for me on my OB client.

But you have the wisdom to see the bigger picture. Too many people here are closed minded.

Of course its frustrating, to behave like little kids and come screaming here after 4 hrs saying things like its shit is retarded. I've even seen people post saying they wont be playing because its not balanced. All I can do is put hand to brow and say omfg tard!

yeah, but at least in this case you can actually SEE the debugger, and open up your task manager and SEE the 600mb + of resources being hogged.

So it's not like claiming something's going on that you can't see with your own eyes.
