Well, I have only put a few hours into this game but since I  got into the beta because of mmorpg.com i figured I'd post my 10 cents on there forums...

I feel like I should first tell you I am a big fan of mythic ent. and I am tottaly stoked for WAR, and up until a few days ago, I didn't even have any urge to play AoC.  Then, once the open beta got close enough, I figured what the hell, I'll give it a shot.  Anyway, I did not expect much when I first logged in mainly because beta's are always choppy and a trial run for the companies.  What I figured out was that the game is actually fun, glitches in  graphics and lag is expected in mmo's and ecspeacially in beta.    and i've got a gforce 7 so i get plenty of the choppiness.   I wanted to go into it looking at gameplay  and not graphics, because, hey, lets face it, it's new and a big title so it's going to be shiny.  So, going into the game, I was looking past beta sized lag and shiny new graphics....because honestly I wanted to be able to honestly say, don't even try connan, wait for WAR.  But so far I can't and here is why............

1. Laggy but it's beta - The fact that it runs better than some games do after they are released and that Funcom is doing everything they can to test it out and fix it prior to release is a promising feature...

2.  It's got pretty graphics.(I couldn't help but notice)  Yes, particle effects(things that go boom)  Don't al work YET, but be patient, it takes time for a company to  be able to get the effects right when they jump to having alot of players on there servers.

3. The UI is average, which is fine for me.

4.  The combat is fairly unique, it's been done before but it takes more skill and attention to you poitioning than your a verage 'select target, pull, pras 1-2-3, and then kick back until. the target is dead.'

Basically am I going to pre-order.....maybe.  

was that my plan before i tried beta, hell no.

It's fun.
