I would like to reference Wharghouls posts when this guy says the community is so nice and helpful. He is flaming his fellow testers, telling them not to talk about things, and telling them to go educate themselves instead of being helpful. This is the type of person you want to game with? I know he is just one bad apple out of a whole tree but he stands out like a sore thumb on these boards.
Man, some people are just dense. Lets disregard the last 5 pages of complaints and issues brought up by people who have played the beta, lets just look at the system requirements. Done? Funcom will be lucky to get 200k stable subs. I never thought fanboism will go to the extent of destroying common sense.
1 month after release this game will have less subs than lotr did 1 month after release people who think this game is gonna blow up and be huge are in for a big surprise.

We have almost completely diffrent experiences. I for one have had a blast in the best mmorpg to come along in years! Not only did I do the gamestop (mammoth) preorder, I'm gonna get the best buy (rhino) as well. The DEVS have said that AoC is not for everyone.... Maybe this game isn't for you.

my very standard system was lagging terribly when 10 ppl were right next to eachother and doing spellcasting etc. And my graphics settings were set to low.
Its great game but unless u have an uber system it lags and crashes a lot when u walk into a room with 10-15 ppl. Thats the biggest reason why i am not buying this gae cause my comp cant handle it.

A mistake I see over and over again, each time a game is released, is people think there is some emperical truth. There is no "right" or "wrong" opinion, just opinions. At this moment, a number of people are experiencing technical issues running the game. So I can understand having an opinion about the technical issues, but if one can't run the game to experience it, one isn't really in a position to judge the game, just the technical frustrations they are causing the person.
This situation was so predictable. Take WoW, the most popular game of the genre at this time. The PC requirements to run that game are so light, you can do it with a 6 year old computer. That same computer won't work with AoC. Heck, one that is two years old, will have a few issues with AoC, because it really requires 3 gigs of Ram for XP, and 4 for Vista 64.
Now if you can play the game fine, and don't like it, then it's not the game for you. Not a problem, but most of the complaints are not about the game; but about the frustration of not being able to actually experience it.
Let the guy enjoy life. Be happy because he's happy. No need to bring darkness over his newly rediscovered light in MMORPGs. You all wouldn't want to be knocked off your high horse would you? Lol except if someone comes at you with a polearm

All things considered... this is open beta, where they are stress testing the game... your going to experience not so fun issues with the game.... and does the term beta mean anything?
I beta tested Vanguard and the beta ran smoother than the actual game did after launch...
So all in all, i'd say wait till the release is near.. If the dev get enough data from stress testing done, you should see the game improve before launch
I agree that it is a badass game. I am having a blast playing it, but I hope Funcom is prompt with their fixes so that they can move on to adding in the content needed to fully realize their original ideas and flesh out the end game.

It s so close to release and i know people are saying it s a different buildetc(why the hell would they do this) but it s looking as though it will be a bad release. Well thats good 2 to 1 for i see it differently but even at 2 to 1 for such a hyped game is not very good. It could have had a HUGE player base but i m starting to think it won t. I m having a hard time even logging in it just frusterates me. I ve seen people post tweaking guides etc like turn off 1 proc etc , to me that makes no sense but oh well to each their own. Hope you all have fun in AOC i regretably cancelled my pre order and wait on purchase to a later date.
